Had a weekend at home and I had been working on this for a while now so figured I'd post it. I feel like we almost forget all the ridiculous moments we've been able to experience as NDSU football fans over the last 15 years so I tried to put together a list of the most memorable play/moments and link the Bisonville GDT thread at that exact moment in time to sort of relive those ridiculous feelings.

Here's my honorable mentions that just missed the top 10:

Walker to White (2006 vs Ball St):
Audio/Video: This one is really hard to find any kind of video of so going with Dom's twitter post from a couple years ago (go to the 1:00 minute mark - there's no commentary): https://twitter.com/DomIzzoWDAY/status/1308783517963296768

Bisonville GDT moment: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?40619-GDT-NDSU-vs-SDSU&p=1377999#post1377999

I'll post the rest of the top 10 in individual posts... feel free to share your thoughts on whichever you'd like. A few years ago I posted a countdown of most memorable games and really enjoyed reading about what everyone remembered about each of those games. Hoping to hear some more good stores about these individual moments.

Just in case I haven't already set a record for most posts in a single thread without a reply if you want to talk about unsung plays in NDSU football history watch #71 Tyler Gimmestad on this play. He's the pulling RG and if he doesn't get a piece of the LB that hits the hole Jensen is running through who knows if this unforgettable play ever happens.

Great list. I’m sure everyone will have their own plays they think should be in the 10. Personally I have a hard if not impossible time listing bests and favorites because there can be so much content to what makes something the best.

When I was reading the first post 1 moment I immediately thought of was the win over Montana before the transition. I think knew right away what plays would be on the list so my mind went for one that for me marked a specific step in Bison history and I remember exactly where I was when it happened.

I guess that was 20 yes ago and you did say 15. God I’m old.

Yeah, that's a good point. I was thinking more in the D1 era and I tend to forget about that one since it was during the exploratory year but that fake FG TD and subsequent missed FG by Montana were definitely more than worthy of mention. I think that even pre-dates Bisonville or at least I can't find a GDT since it was in Bisonville's infancy but it was nonetheless an unforgettable moment in NDSU football's D1 history.

One that deserves some consideration, I think:

First play of the 4th quarter, 2019 Championship, 3rd and 23 from the JMWho 44, Trey Lance to the house.

We don’t score there and I don’t think we win that game.

Definitely not top ten worthy but when ndsu pumped Youngstown in Fargo the year after Youngstown had beaten ndsu on the Marcus Williams td interception I just happened to be watching Marcus the entire play and knew when the qb through that pass that he didn't see Marcus. I was standing up giving the td signal before Marcus even caught it. Definitely a top memory for me eh. And my grandma was in icu at that time and the nurse asked her who her favorite Bison was and she said Ryan Smith because she used to play catch with him when he was a little boy. The nurse watched that game on TV with my grandma and Ryan went off. The nurse said that Ryan Smith? Grandma says yeah that one! Lol.

This is great stuff. Thank you for this!

But we're missing the Jimmy Hendricks end zone interception with 8 seconds left to clinch a 28-20 National Championship over Ben DiNucci and his JMUs.

Never had I screamed louder at a Bison game than after that play.

Huge play - But the reason I rank Trey’s 44yd dash to the end zone ahead is because Hendricks’ pick doesn’t happen unless we score there. JMWho kicks a FG and goes up 23-21 with seconds left and we lose. Bigger play imo.

I was only at 7.....would have matched you, but my niece asked me to be her confirmation sponsor during the epic UNI comeback; was actually in the Fargo area watching on TV when it happened, and a little late for when sponsors were supposed to be at the church. I made the right decision, right?

Underrated play/game but still not sure it makes the top 10 even so. Steve Walker to John Majeski TD catch with like 10 seconds left against UC Davis in 2006 after being down 24-0.

This thread is for D1 history.

If we're opening it up to D2, there was an important interception late in the 1990 Semifinal against Pitt State that really sticks out to me. The game had gone back and forth as the Gorillas weren't intimidated in the least to travel to Dacotah Field in late November. PSU was up at halftime, a first for the Bison to be down at halftime for a dominant season, and the INT was a backbreaker mid/late 4th quarter to stop PSU's momentum.

As a moment, I really lost my shit.

Another "moment" was the entire 3rd quarter for that year's Natty against IUP. The Bison scored 32 times, it seemed, and mayhem ensued...at least in my general vicinity in Florence, AL.

That 1990 season was glorious, as was the 1986 one and don't want anybody to forget about them. I probably shouldn't have derailed a DI thread though.

Clearly, the #1 biggest moment in NDSU's DI football history was deciding to go DI in the first place despite all the opposition from the fossil collection in Bismarck, the media, and the downriver degens in Grand Forks/UND. Immediately beating Montana to shut them all up was #2, imo.
