How do you think the 2022 SDSU team would do if they played the 9 prior NDSU championship teams? Which NDSU teams would likely beat the Jacks, and which teams might win in a close game or possibly lose?

BiZon22

They probably beat 2011 and last years. 2013 and 2018?? I think? Would have smoked em by 3 scores. The rest would have won in tight games

This is a great thread. 2011 and 2021 I think lose by 10 points. 2013 and 2018 blow their door off. I think they get Carson in 2014, but Carson coming back from injury beat them good in 2015. I'll give the Jacks a win against 2017, but it would be really close as that was a great defense. 2019 also would be a NDSU win as well, but fairly close. Trey was just that good.

Editing 2012; I think the Bison win that one.

Have to tip my hat to the Jacks; that was a good team and never should have lost to Iowa.

Best chance (a close game) would be 2021, 2014, maybe 2011 but our d that year was unreal, other than that not likely close… but there is 9, so hard to keep track of them all.

Call me crazy but I only see 2021 as a possible loss. Our D from 2011-2019 was enough to beat anyone (and we mostly did)…

Except for Sunday's loss, in NONE of them would the Jackrabbits have beaten the Bison. In the earlier years, we would have had great coaching and great QBs to offset any threats.

Funny. I think of that often. When you win 9 national championships, after a while, they all kind of meld into one another. I do also have problems keeping track of them all. Not many football teams have THAT problem.

Did you intentionally leave out 2016 and 2020?

Edit: “Championship Teams”… got it. Pretty sure 2016 would have beat them though…

Still way better than what we just saw on the field. Also, we had the GOAT.

I dunno, you could be right… someone remind me the key injuries from 2016?

Was that the ACL Horror of a season? Could probably name the guys that didn’t have a significant knee injury easier than the ones that did.

This year’s Jack’s team (which is the question posed) would have beat ‘19 team IMO. Thing stopping QB run—which we did 30 times in ‘19.

Big ones, I remember off hand, were Tanguay and Deluca.

Who knew there was a branch of Bisonville at Ditka's Restaurant, and at Bill Swerski's table (https://snltranscripts.jt.org/90/90jsuperfans.phtml) no less. I guess I should've: there's Polish sausage and bratwurst involved.

If that’s all (and those are key), then i think this years team had it much worse.

Pierre Gee-Tucker played but was limping around the field that game and became a big liability.

Funny-----SDSU best team ever that finally won a title vs the 9 teams that Bison won titles with

Let's START this out with.....THIS TEAM was BEATING SDSU at halftime the first game!!!

Score would've/couldve been closer without our -3 turnovers ---i know i know easy to say

but CMON----its the Bunnies they won because their QB RB and WR TE were better than ours------vs those other teams.....NO FRECKIN WAY they are better at those 4 positions

Is it just me or did their line play also seem better on both sides of the ball? That is a hell of team they had there.

Their skill players were collectively way better than ours, no question about it. Stick Kobe in as a possible RB backup for them, maybe.

Line play hands down won them that game. I was very impressed with their line but was hoping for a similar game like the first but no 0 for us in the second half.

13, 14, and 18 win going away. 15 and 19 probably win a close game.

The others lose to the 22 bunnies. That is one of the best FCS teams of all time.

Sagarin has the bunnies 41st, which I believe is behind every NDSU title team except 2021 and 2015.

22 bunnies lose to all of the JMUs as well, and likely have a close game to ISUr that we played in the natty. GaSo also probably beats them.

This bunnies team isn’t even in the top 10 of FCS teams.

A good barometer to compare would be the number of prospective NFL players in each roster

2022 jacks: the TE, the DT, the Rb ( vrs P.Strong on N.E. Squad), ....others?....QB is a soph, OL?,

They aren’t getting that much better. easier to look good now. For past years, kind of the one game or full season scenario. Pretty injury clean this year. Definitely a good team that made it to the championship game.

The 2022 Jacks were better than the 2022 Bison.
This is all we really know. This was their best year and one of our worst of the past decade.

I'm not convinced they would have beaten past champions.

And nothing against Kobe, I love to watch him run, but he was backup for the Bison too when the other backs were healthy.

SHSU may be the team with the lowest sagarin to win it.
In 2020-21 season, Sam Houston had a 65.68 rating.
Bison had a 59.48 rating for the 2020-21 spring covid season.

Guess 2020 is omitted above because that "season" was wack.

The Jacks put up more points (45) against us than we ever put up against anyone in the Natty. This was the most points scored by a team since App State in 2007. They were good, but…

IMO this says more about the 2022 Bison. Not a championship caliber team, on both sides of the ball. Fortunate to even make the final!
