You can appreciate our incredible history AND call out horrible coaching, coordinators, lack of fundamentals, bad execution, and bad recruiting on the D-line that got us here. If you dont call it out, you are supporting mediocre play. We werent even competitive. You don't win games in 2023 because of the past. Its all about now. Lets fix whats wrong

I think it’s more frustration on what could have been with better coaching. We’ve lost games before and we’ve not won the championship twice since 2011 but this one feels different for some reason. I hopeful it gets corrected but, will you be super excited if the Defense doesn’t improve and Roehl continues his play-calling trends? I’ll be disappointed if I see that. That’s just me.

Two things can be true:
1. We can appreciate the incredible run NDSU has (and will continue to have). I doubt anyone including SDSU will be able to ever top it.
2. We can acknowledge there are big and ONGOING problems with coaching that HAVE to be addressed and dealt with in no uncertain terms so that we can resume that incredible run. By expressing valid concerns about the coaching decisions of recent months, we are not negating anything that has happened in the past years. I have run into a bunch of my friends who are Bison fans and admirers in the past 24 hours. All say the same thing to paraphrase: FIX THIS!

My daughter who grew up a Bison fan, but today lives in Rapid City, was watching the game. I know she pulls for the Bison, but in this game, given she lives in SD, I'm not sure. In any case she texted me and said no defense and awful play calling.

I agree and say that is more on the head coach than anything. Way more penalties and kids taunting than there ever has been. To many coaches promoted without the experience that they should have. We are the top job in the fcs, we should be able to pick our coordinators who have a proven record.

Any taunting by players should only happen [B]ONCE [/! Then the coaches say 'no ands, if or buts" no more taunting or other type of easily avoidable penalties. This is parenting 101. These are young adults and they haven't learned their lesson? The head coach and those who make decisions should take their time and not rush into the DC position. Get a good new defensive coordinator whose coaching philosophy aligns with Bison history and pride. Time may be of the essence to a degree but rushing into a knee-jerk decision is not a good idea either. The whole "culture" of the coaching staff needs to be re-tooled. There should be (if there is not already) a culture where all the coaching staff feels free to challenge decisions being made, in a manner for the best of the team. I am just exasperated by what I am seeing and hearing! I don't know the inner workings of the coaching staff but judging by the results of what we have seen this year, there might be some dysfunction. Also, years back, we had that motivation guy. Get him back. Something is wrong around here and we need to nip it in the bud!

If you don’t see that we are on a slow down tend to a fringe playoff team then you need to take off your green and gold glasses. This team is going to continue to get worse under Entz and co. The guy is clueless as a head coach and we have no culture.

We lucked into a natty appearance this year, we had no business beating UIW.

UND will beat us next year as will SDSU and we will be a bubble team if we are lucky.

We missed the FBS boat a few year ago and if you aren’t progressing you’re regressing and we are absolutely regressing bad.

I'm pretty sure UIW would have given the rabbits a better game. This team accomplished more this year than they had talent or coaching for. Doesn't say alot for the conference or the FCS in general.

Its been going on for a while. Some of us brought it up years ago. But we were castigated as old timers and this was a new day and age. Now they cant figure out what happened.

Maybe people are fearful of a return to the post 1990 through mid 2000’s irrelevance where our former jr. foe leapfrogged us and we spent the next 15 years chasing them. Switch Jr foes maybe it’s happening again.

That being said I watched a bunch of these bowl games this year that got pumped up here and I was blown away that each and every other school had more then 3 plays in teh playbook eh. Must be an fbs thing.

That COVID season was the best thing ever if you wanted to see the FCS shaken up, that's for sure. It killed NDSU's momentum by being disruptive to recruiting and development.

Some teams got better (I mean, in some teams' cases, it's hard to imagine them getting worse), but improving on 16-0, +25 ppg, and +200 ypg? That was impossible given the circumstances (and even that season wasn't good enough for some fans.)

It's taken the Jacks 18 years in FCS to catch up to us and they finally beat our most depleted team ever in the Natty; wtf are we bitchin about? I don't remember throwing in the towel on the program when Troy State kicked a last second field goal to beat us in the D2 Natty; we came back and one the Natty the next year. We are likely to do the same thing next season and then we'll have to listen to the constant bitching about moving up even though no conference that we want wants us. We support one of the best f'ing football programs in the nation at any level, and people outside of our bubble recognize that and congratulate us on it. Stop bitchin and raise a glass to the Mighty Bison!
