Off the top of my head I can recall SDSU being seeded in 2016 and 2019 at 8-3.

I doubt it happens this year though. Too many 9+ win teams from the Big Sky/CAA/MVFC/SOCON and then there will be undefeated Holy Cross and practically undefeated Incarnate Word also probably getting seeds.

EDIT: Actually SDSU was seeded at 8-4 in 2019.

Man, that's kind of ridiculous.

Ha! I wasn't asking with any thought to NDSU on this one - I was just curious.

2019 seeds (and final loss total):

#3 Weber - 4
#4 Sac State - 4
#5 Montana State - 4
#6 Montana - 4
#7 SD State - 5

To finish with those numbers of losses ...

That was an interesting year. One of their losses was to Minnesota, and another one to NDSU.
I think FBS losses and losses to NDSU or other #1 team often get discounted a bit by the committee if the game was respectable.

You could make an argument that UNI should have been seeded over them, except SDSU won the regular season head to head.

UNI proceeded to eliminate SDSU in the 2nd round game.
