You're not wrong. It is the opposite of many years; heck even last year where it was a pretty solid defensive battle game. I'd expect this to be much higher scoring, though SU has certainly shown they have a tough D; though so do the bunnies and we were able to put points up there.

D has looked better the last two weeks, but look who we played against. That being said, it was an Indiana St team the Bison struggled with, so who the heck knows. Bigger question, which teams show up. NDSU against Indiana St, or NDSU against Drake. Which UND team shows up? Does our defense make the trip? So many questions marks heading into this one, but this game also has more at stake than any of our other D1 games being both teams are likely playoff bound with a seed on the line.

I was really hoping to be in Fargo to tailgate and my in laws already offered me a ticket to the game, but will be stuck home with the kiddos and their activities. I'll be watching on ESPN and hopefully it is a fun game! Who knows, maybe even a crazy game to set up for a post season matchup?!?

How can someone possibly downplay this game? UND needs a win to get a playoff spot. A loss puts them at the bottom of the bubble. A win absolutely gets them in. NDSU needs a win to secure a top 4 seed. With Sac St and Mont St facing the very real possibility of a loss we could even be top 2 and guarantee we're on the opposite bracket from SDSU. A loss drops us from seeding and we play next weekend. I'm still putting the Brawl of the Wild as the game of the week but this is close.

NDSU football fans are intelligent and have been through this process numerous times previously. This game has playoff implications. It will have good attendance. The atmosphere will be close to SDSU because I think there will be a fair amount of UND fans there and they are very excited about the possibilities that their team has in front of them. However, given the circumstances of the season leading up to this point, I think most Bison fans excitement for this game is muted compared to previous seasons. We see the limitations of this team as it's currently constructed and because of that it is a bit deflating to know that we are going to have to battle to beat a slightly above average UND team because we are only slightly above average as well. If this was 2010 or 2011 the fan base would be very excited about a game like this. After 9 championships in 11 years and seeing the performance of this team compared to previous, I think it mutes excitement. As I stated, I will be there and I will be cheering on my team and wanting them to win. It's just that my expectations are lower this year because this team has more limitations than previous years.

NDSU should win without too much trouble... UND's defense is pretty bad and the karma from the harvest helmets and the yellow jerseys hasn't failed us yet. Why not Indiana State? Those games were played 4 weeks apart instead of 7 weeks apart like the USD game (who played with a different QB, who's done much better than their previous starter).

What is chauvinistic about my take? It's hockey season; it's el forko grande; all of the other sports play 2nd trumpet to the puck team. I grew up on a farm 350 miles from GF. Our 2 antenna tv channels never carried any NHL games. EVER. I never learned how to ice skate (roller skate, yes). High school hockey wasn't played anywhere except in a small wedge of north eastern ND. Had i grown up closer to und, perhaps my attitude would be different. If the athletic department starts funding collegiate hockey at NDSU, my TM contributions are going to start being designated to particular sports. Just stating the facts, ma'am.
