After scoring 7 points combined in their first two games, USD's offense destroyed Cal Poly's defense (560 total yards!)

Three things off the top of my head:

USD's secondary looked substandard against the pass against Cal Poly.
Their offense has only turned the ball over once.
They are committed to their ground game.

Neilson took over play calling.

I expect a focused Bison team to take out some frustration on the Coyotes.

NDSU wins in a game closer than it needs to be

Not a huge fan of seeing a team dedicated to the ground game with that being our primary weakness. Let's get up early please so we can control TOP.

I predict a fast game with both teams running a lot.

Roehl doesn't know how to throw. /purple

Just because they're dedicated to it doesn't mean they're competent.

Last week they were pedestrian on the ground for the first 3 qtrs if you take out the 75 yard QB scramble for a TD...and that was against a Big Sky team coached by Beau Baldwin so all they see in practice is 4-5 wide basketball plays.

4 of USD's 5 touchdowns were of +40 yards.

I'm sensing that the anticipation for this game is palpable. You can cut the tension with a chainsaw. They may make another "when they were legends" documentary about this game on PBS.

Last year, NDSU got up 28-0, but because of USD's hurry-up offense, the Bison offense still had to run 51 more plays.

Also, by my count, USD's win pct is .500. If they win this weekend, their all-time WLT will be 551-551-36. As much as I like symmetry... I really want a Bison W.

I want to see a solid run defense and some sort of vertical passing game. I do have a sneaky feeling that this game is going to be closer than expected.

Btw... check out USD's first 5 games of the season:
@ Kansas St
@ Montana
vs Cal Poly
vs NDSU
@ SDSU

Yikes...

Haven’t posted much all week, been off the grid a bit exploring.

Regarding USD. I expect the Bison to come out a little pissed off and ready to make a Bison football statement.

See some of you there! Go Bison!!

Bison 47, Coyotes 13.

Uh Oh. This is akin to telling the Coyotes "Eff You!" on national TV. Let the triggering begin.

Nielson made clear on his conversation with Izzo that he sure seems to be moving away from tempo. He specifically talked about how they need to use more clock and keep NDSU off the field.

Before AZ, Mike McF was going on on TOP was not going to matter. I thought that was one of the dumbest comments I'd ever heard, and just as I expected, NDSU, by controlling the TOP, should have won the game.
