Much like the Football and Basketball teams for pro opportunities (players) and advancement for coaches. NDSU sports media allows for professionals to advance. But not only that the job is obviously good enough that a person will move to ND and leave roots.

This is not only for NDSU and its athletics program but the state in general. Opportunity, safety, good schools still exit.

Didn’t have to listen to that very long before realizing he will be great to have up in Fargo! Love the excitement. I also like how he has the respect for the players to pronounce their names correctly, Gronowski and Yanke are not the easiest names and he nailed them while his color guy butchered them. Good hire from the FBS!

I preferred Hipp over Culhane honestly - at least in the play-by-play role (the daily radio show was infinitely better with Culhane). Just seemed like he has a voice more suited for radio and had more of the "growl" during big plays versus Culhane whose voice pitch rose on all the big plays which irritates me (SDSU's radio guy makes Culhane sound like a bass with the way he calls big plays).

Hipp got hired a month before the season started and some people expected him to know what color underwear Bentrim wore. His first season was a stopgap and he did about as good as anyone could’ve done in his position.

I think he really hamstrung himself being afraid to misspeak or not live up to the culture.

Meh I don't love listening to him honestly and the number of times I cringe when he speaks is too high for my taste. I find that if he's the only one on or is taking over the conversation I stop listening. That's just my opinion.

A former player won’t be pxp. That’s not a skill set you can just do. Former players do color or sideline. If former players could just do pxp then we would see it at the pro level and I can’t think of one former player that does pxp

The only former player I've ever seen do play by play was Dan Fouts. And he was decades into his broadcasting career when he switched to do that. And, he wasn't doing NFL anymore, he was doing college football.
