I always love that one. Story time...when I went to the Vikings Saints playoff game back in the Moss/Culpepper era, maybe early 00s (maybe the year they lost to the Giants the next week like 41-0?), anyway I made a sign that said "Hi Mom. Hi Dad, Hi Favre".

"Hi South Dakota State" would also be acceptable.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of the time it's an attention thing. Then couple that with the fact that people usually end up blocking peoples' vision in the rows behind them? Pass

Although I should add that I feel like NDSU fans do a really good job with both their signs and not being jerks about blocking peoples' vision so I don't think the above really applies to them. Proceed with thread :)

I would say that most of the time you see signs on TV is before/after TV timeouts, like right when you come back from the commercial break.....so not sure there's much to see on the field anyway during that time. But I'm not really a sign guy anyway. Could always just put a giant hairy buffalo hat on your head like NOSIB and you end up on the bigscreen/TV literally every time you're at a game.

Carson was so embarrassed when asked to autograph that sign. That sign is still around.
We don’t do them anymore because they turn into photo illustrations. Then I call Mcfeely and the sports guys get upset and then the forum runs an apology. Too much trouble.

I fell like most people with signs are smart enough to know when the camera is pointing at them, watching the camera man for queues and seeing the red light come one. That is my experience in the dome anyway which in our corners the cameras get close enough to know who they are trying to get on screen long before they show it.
