There is already an unwritten football rule in fcs/fbs and that is the fbs teams are not allowed to schedule ndsu. This was especially emphasized by the big ten commissioner as a point of emphasis.

They finally ran crossing routes and had receivers open all night. Cam was terribly and missed 7 or 8 open receivers or this game wouldn't have been close. Happy to see young receivers playing well. Sundell out was a big factor in the run game just like earlier in the year. If he is back they will crush in Frisco.

Agree. I'd like the student section to be bigger like it was at the beginning of the run, but Dome was rocking. Constant noise all game long on every down on defense. Few venues especially in FCS manage that. Lost track of number of false starts and a huge muffed snap. There's a reason Dooks cry constantly about having to play NDSU in Fargo.

Raja also had a drop early in the game for a first down. The ball wasn’t the best thrown ball, a little behind him, but WRs have to catch balls that actually get in their hands!

Congrats to Bison Nation. You all have our number and won that game no doubt. I wish we decided to play two halves but a fun game to watch. That was one of the sickest interceptions I’ve ever seen. The effort alone was insane but the moment was maybe more so. As mad as I was, had to just say wow and appreciate the play. Super frustrated by our coaching in big games but excited for the future. At some point we need a big game coach though. Good luck in the finals and thanks for (mostly) being a class act here. Always fun to visit this board at playoff time. Happy Holidays all!

That was s huge miss with 2:54 left in the 4th. The officials on the field need to see that. One thing to miss 2-3 seconds there but 25 is bad. You can see the R get on his O2O radio so I think he recognized something. But they didn't correct anything there. I'm asking some replay friends to see if they can fix it during the time out. I'm thinking they could have set the game clock back to about 2:14 after the time out.

Clock operators are provided by the home team. That was s huge miss with 2:54 left in the 4th. The officials on the field need to see that. One thing to miss 2-3 seconds there but 25 is bad. You can see the R get on his O2O radio so I think he recognized something. But they didn't correct anything there. I'm asking some replay friends to see if they can fix it during the time out. I'm thinking they could have set the game clock back to about 2:14 after the time out.

The F and S are primary on the game clock and the B is primary on the play clock. They also have O2O with replay and could possibly get unofficial help from them. They probably should have shut it down, reset the game clock to 2:54, play clock to 40 and wind both. If I hear anything from my replay friends I'll let you know.

Totally agreed. The conference championship games alone are worth the hype to move up, its a gream game with 2 really good teams playing for something in a great atmosphere and this doesn't even consider the P5 games they have that's out of conference.

Who cares. In the last 3 years alone, they have played a ranked Arkansas, a ranked Coastal Carolina(2x), a ranked Louisana, a top 10 LSU, and a ranked Appalachian St. And this is including the 2020 COVID year with no out of conference schedule.

That alone makes trumps the FCS playoffs, especially considering how bad the product is going to be moving forward.

First, it doesn't allow the defense much time to read the formation and plan their rush lanes. Second, they may hope it causes the defense to jump offsides although I can't imagine it would have s huge impact since they are starting behind the LOS.

I took a co worker to the game tonight as my wifey was unable to attend, WOW what a game and lasting memory to witness! Luepke, Miller, Dusten, QP and Reinholtz!!! NCAA clock people and refs with NO OFFENSIVE HOLDING calls did smell as bad as a smoke stack but we call it letting them play. Had some DUKES in our section and they were fun to visit with the decently behaved and respected our turf. The HOODY HEIST really was the best play of the game! Now we play Mont. State so I should really go because I was at the deep freeze game vs those Bobcats back in the day at Dakota Field so will be nice pay back time in FRISCO. Cant imagine our defense will let Tommy Bcat Qb run for a 100 yds and pass for 300 against us - really wabbits? You lost to them?

My Dad and I were at that game. For a period there the Bison had a lock down defense, but a so-so offense. Bison had a 3-0 lead at the half.

In 2012 they made Frisco as an unseeded team (only 5 seeds then though). In 2014 they made the semis as an unseeded team. In 2015 they made the semis as an unseeded team. In 2017 they made the semis as a #6 seed. There's plenty of teams to choose from if you want a poster child for being consistently overseeded (Jax St, Sac St, etc) but SHSU isn't one. I'd say they were even more successful since 2011 than JMU was.

It was EASILY the loudest game I've experience in person (I was not at the 11 UNI game, or either of the GSU semis), But I've probably been to 5 playoff games and another 20 others, usually against UND, SDSU, and the Nattys, and nothing that I HAVE EXPERIENCED topped Friday from a volume stand point.

I went with a buddy who was in the band from 2010-2014 and he said it was as relentless of a crowd as he had ever experienced at the dome and said the roar after the Pick of Destiny was as insane as the brock 4th and frisco

Bottom line, the crowd was great. Good work to everyone involved. It definitely warmed this curmudgeon's icy soul

When NDSU was deciding whether or not to go DI, I'm not sure I knew that JMU existed (they were 2-5 in the playoffs in 20+ seasons) - to me, DI-AA/FCS was Georgia Southern, Youngstown, Montana, and Marshall (d'oh - I hadn't realized they left for FBS at that point.) Even after their 2004 title, JMU all but disappeared from the national scene until 2016 when JMU started a dominant run (as we all know.) Like Longhorn posted, they sure played NDSU tough the last four times we met, and made the playoffs their last eight seasons in the FCS which is quite a streak too, but they got knocked out of the playoffs by Colgate twice in that 8-season streak.

What impressed me most about JMU is how in each of the last three meetings, NDSU went into the half with a 10+ lead and every time, JMU won the second half. Most teams fold after taking 30 minutes of body blows from NDSU, but JMU never did.

So, hey, as NDSU fans, we are a in no-lose situation with this championship game. If our guys beat Montana State, that puts an exclamation point on the statement that "The spring season was an aberration," but if Montana State wins, they immediately replace JMU as a national rival.

When we would get home after a game I would always need a nap. I couldn’t believe how tired I was.
Then in an interview Brock said he felt sorry for opposing QBs. He said constantly yelling to get the plays out is exhausting.

Population is only around 50k but it doesn't have a small town feel since there are other towns of similar size very near. Charlottesville is only an hour away. The I81 corridor seems to be a steady stream of towns through Virginia.

Ok. Let’s talk about JMU’s Olinemen leading their team in tackles. I haven’t seen our DL on the ground that many times in the entire season games combined. The holding was ridiculous, but the refs weren’t gonna call it. We really should have done more of that ourselves.

Its complicated though. JMU may have been used to getting away with what they did because that’s how they play in the CAA, or refs just wouldn’t call holding, or both, but it was obvious and ridiculous that it wasn’t called.

It was wild. I hope they're all healthy by the championship. Couldn't see it too much on the tv copy but at the game I thought half of them were limping/holding arms funny by the end. Being held/pulled to the ground is hard on the body and puts them in some awkward positions. Ankles and shoulders catching body weight
