First D1 game of the season on the road at Cal Poly today. Bison opened as 9.5 point favorites, currently sits at -9. Cal Poly has some taller guards so our size advantage won't be quite as evident as it has been. They did not shoot the ball well at all in their opener so our focus just needs to be on slowing down Koroma which I think running Rocky, Grant and Andrew at him all game should do and as long as we play fairly well on the offensive end we should get the W. Most interesting thing to watch will be to see if Eady starts or even plays in this one. Very important to get him some court time prior to UNLV and Arizona next week so hopefully he gets outta Dave's doghouse this afternoon. Game at 4pm CST and available on ESPN+

Glad to see game will be available on ESPN +. Just need to play solid and avoid a clunker like we've had sometimes in past years. Will be watching the evolution of our point rotation.

I'd expect Dave to play it safe and start with Sam at the point and being cautious with the rotation if production drops off.

I don't know what was said during the timeout, but I liked that Richman took one. Trying to plan something out for the end of the half. Didn't work out, but I like the thinking. In the past, he would have kept those timeouts in his pocket. We should be up by more than 7, but I think we pull away in the 2nd half.

Cal Poly's best player was plagued with foul trouble in the first half. I would have to imagine they are happy to only be down 7. 10 turnovers that first half is way to many, also Bison giving to many second chance opportunies on the glass.

Interesting no Skunberg today, thought Morgan gave some good minutes, would like to see him get some touches on the low block and play some inside out with him. Eady looked rusty but made some big plays at the end. Nelson need to be stronger with the ball, turnovers are starting to be an issue with. Rocky was outstanding.

Yep, came off the bench and had a great game; 23 points on 13 shots. Didn't watch but looks like he was the main reason they were in the game at all. Dentlinger only scored 2 points in 13 minutes (got hurt???), Wilson was in foul trouble, and Sheierman went 0-7 from 3.

The one thing I've noticed over the years is the Bunnies don't played scared or timid no matter who they play. Doesn't always equal wins but they do carry a level of confidence into big games.

They play a very freestyle offense that gives them flow, but the culture certainly has its drawbacks defensively. It's fun to watch how vastly different NDSU and SDSU's culture is, and every time they play each other it collides into a very close and usually high scoring game. NDSU can't barely hit 60 points for UND but then play SDSU and scores 75 with ease.

It's fun to watch how vastly different NDSU and SDSU's culture is, and every time they play each other it collides into a very close and usually high scoring game. Those are not normal college hoops scores.

Absolutely ugly win but it was a win. I'm going to attribute some of the sloppy play to the fact that they were likely distracted mentally from their teammate/leader/brother Sam having a medical emergency and surgery the night before. That's a long ways to travel and then deal with that and then try to get ready to play an early afternoon game after all of it. Just looked like they lacked some focus and it's understandable. Not only mentally but your entire gameplan goes out the window when you lose your leader who plays 30 plus minutes for you just hours before the game. I think they'll come out more prepared and ready to go Monday.
