Been watching this kid since grade school via his dad's Facebook. Big strong quick LB/DL from WI believe he is one of the top prospects in WI for 2023. Already 6'3 240 lbs. (going by memory from his dad's post can't be too far off as he was always the biggest kid on the field) as a junior. He was like 6'2 220 last year as a sophomore. Very good wrestler as well always in the mix to win state. He has a fair amount of family in ND, know his dad and several of his relatives (so guess I'll have to behave and not be a lakes like rube!!). Know he went to NDSU camp, among many others this summer. Good chance he gets a FBS offer perhaps even P5 offers. See UND already invited him to a game. Have to think NDSU at least puts an offer out to him at some point, his hard nose take no prisoners style would fit in well with NDSU culture.

- The bad side of early rankings like this, especially the 3 stars, is it makes it tough for NDSU to win those battles. Too many early FBS offers can result for a developmental program, such as the Bison, to compete with.

The good FCS teams do get poached by the FBS, it isn’t just NDSU.
Look at the Jackrabbits, same problem. If you aren’t ever being poached,
you aren’t recruiting well……

Last recruiting season’s most notable poaches were OL Ashton Beers to Minnesota & DB Mason Ellis to Kansas (his home state). Both players had been committed to NDSU.

And the Mountain West teams get poached by P5 teams……

Yes, agree Karter Menz having 2 Big 10 offers makes him being a Bison a way way out there chance. As I warned earlier in this thread, any regional recruit getting early 3 star recognition/combined with early FBS offers makes for a tough recruiting situation for the Bison. Some MAC/Mountain West attention maybe can be overcome, but not this P5 stuff. If Carson Hegerle had gotten that Nebraska offer he wanted, well……

Every year there are prospects whose recruiting blows up and this year is no different. With the Transport Portal situation I am glad to see NDSU offering (perhaps more?)
prospects who will end up FBS, but perhaps the coaches have good relationships with. Might as well, you never know what will happen down the road. If NDSU is to be losing a few more players to the portal, then being prepared to bring in a few more is planning ahead…..

Yep. I really like Bohl, but we took his formula to a new level. His 3 Peat was a long time ago. So long ago that Klieman won more Bohl and now Entz can tie Bohl

……This past fall, Kienholz led the Governors to a 10-2 season and their fifth straight Class 11AA state championship. In the 2021 state championship game, Pierre trailed Tea Area by a 27-7 score in the third quarter. That’s when Kienholz, both throwing and running the ball, orchestrated a 23-point heart-pounding comeback for the state championship. He racked up 537 total yards and four total touchdowns on his way to Joe Robbie MVP honors.

For the season, the Class 11AA all-state quarterback threw for 3,359 yards and 37 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,165 yards and another 12 touchdowns on 146 carries. Entering his senior season, Kienholz has a school-record 5,678 passing yards and 58 passing touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 2,067 yards and 20 touchdowns……

What constitutes a violation in the NCAA world? It's all about NIL money; crap, to stop the NIL bidding wars, allow the P5 conferences to have a draft, yes, a draft just like the NFL............give them 4 or 5 rounds (roughly 60 teams) 300 players . Saban talks about parity, a draft to spread the talent around would even the landscape..........just being facetious.
