Is Cole Payton traveling with the team on road trips like Easton and Trey did?

Less is good news. That means no burned redshirt year which is the way we've won in the past. Trading a players worst year for their best year is just dumb except in rare cases where the player is so good we would be silly to keep them out

I think the 4 game rule is much more valuable late in the year when injuries happen and they are more comfortable and game ready

I would say yes. They have always taken 3 QB's on trips. Cannot confirm though.

Not positive about Towson, but he was definitely dressed on the sideline against UND.

That used to be the MO. I think that changes a little bit now that Trey moved on so quickly. For most players though, I agree, use the redshirt and build them up. If a bunch more start leaving though, you'll see that change as well.

1 game not one play he got “learning” time against Valpo and scored a td.

Nope there is two number 5s. CB #5 Jerodd Vines had the fumble recover.

How about last years freshmen? Since the spring season doesn't count they could technically use the 4 game rule as well and still be freshmen in year 3

I don't think it changes much. Trey was the exception and not the rule. Had that stupid spring season not happened, we would have had very little attrition. I always try to picture that offense with Trey, Radunz and all the seniors who ended early

so recruiting was sub-par? this is FCS you'd think we could get 3-4 recruits at least to step right in & play

I actually think for a great team in FCS, it is the exact opposite. You are not getting those 4 and 5 star skill, off the ball, guys who may be able to play right. If you are a development program like NDSU, you are bringing in those 2-3 star guys, and bulking them up and getting them ready to play in 2-3 years. Now, on the other hand, you suck and have poor depth, yeah, you have to play some of those guys. Trey, Easton, and Trey all shirted........so RELAX!

yea I see that. but you'd think by year 10 of this dynasty we could pull a couple bigger recruits with the adage of "go fcs & play right away?

okay yeah but we're better than most G5, so the same kids that can't play right away there aren't going to be able to play right away here

I know you're not being serious but still if you're just finding out now that we're a developmental program...
