Think about it this way... a Southland team winning the chipper helps us out... as long as we continue our dominance in the Valley, Southland success will reduce Valley teams in the playoffs, increasing our chances of success in the playoffs. I know we fair well against the Valley in the playoffs but I think they are always our best competition and I’d rather see a 2nd-3rd place Southland team than any Valley team come playoff time.

You all do as you will but I'll be rooting for the dirty Jackrabbits. Keep the title in the MVFC and put the target on their backs going into the fall. Let's see how they handle being the hunted. I've never held them in the same contempt as I did NDSU's previous main rival in football. It definitely seemed like SDSU had a little more juice in this last Marker Game which gave them an emotional edge (just ask the window of the Fargodome visitor coach's box) so hopefully this ratchets things up a bit from the NDSU side going into the fall and onward.

Glad to see some of you supporting the Kats this week. Beating the Bison this year just wasn't the same...kind of catching you with your pants down. But I'll leave images like that to our Lumberjack friends in purple at Stephen F Austin. With Covid, the screwed up season, injuries, the whole thing is kind of diminished. If it was a typical May, we might even look forward to a 90 plus temp on Sunday, that might have the wabbits sucking wind, but it looks like mid 80's and clouds. We're hopeful to get the chip finally. Hopefully, things are back to normal in the Fall, or as normal as things can be with the upcoming endless transfers with the NCAA. It will be interesting for us in the newly wrangled WAC. Sounds like there will be more moves there in the future, but leaving the Southland was pretty much inevitable. When we lost UTSA and Texas State to the FBS basement and replaced them with church schools like Houston Baptist and Incarnate Word, the handwriting was on the wall. We are now in the WAC with Texas teams we have a lot of history in former conferences. We'll see how it goes. Got tickets, so TransAm, we'll have a toast to the bus at the tailgate. It likely has a reserved parking place in Frisco by now!

Yeah I can agree with all of this. Going back to your post that I replied to though I am thinking that NDSU FB 2021 doesn't need a kick in the ass so much as they need reps and 'Kramerizing'. They are a young crowd and I am very hopeful that a summer's worth of workouts will get them closer to where they need to be.

I've thought from the beginning that if you lose in a season like this, take it on the chin and move on. Dont hold it against yourselves. If you win, you should hang the banner, throw the parade, etc. But no shame in losing in a season like this.

I am certainly conflicted so I won't cheer for either.

1) I give SHSU credit for continuing to build their program. Also Keeler has done a good job fixing their defense.
2) SDSU... Setting aside their dirty players, was our partner in the move. And if the MVFC rumor is true, was a really good partner. (As opposed to USD and UND which worked to knife each other and everyone else in the back).

I don't see Sam Houston going FBS anytime soon. We'd have to do a major expansion to Bowers Stadium to increase to FBS minimum standard seating capacity, plus we wouldn't fill it these days. Our student population isn't into FCS football yet. There are so many FBS schools in Texas, students grew up watching them on TV and never heard of FCS. Hard to change their old habits. Our forum has the same arguments for and against, but we are a LONG way from being able to make the step up. Plus, what's the point of making the move? Many of our former conference foes in the Southland or other former conferences made the step up and are now invisible also-rans: Texas State (who we drummed the last few meetings right before they stepped up), UTSA (they just started football back and decided they were ready), and University of North Texas. UNT built an awesome new stadium, and put a POS football team in it that no one gives a runny crap about. I grew up a University of Texas fan, my older brothers went there and they were National Champs a few times during their years. I went to Sam and had no dog in that UT hunt, plus I prefer the FCS because they PLAY a freaking championship, not create a shitty algorithm and dart board four teams into a "playoff". NDSU has the attendance and system to make the step and be competitive, but P5 will likely try and keep you down with the others.

We're reputable to have one of the best Criminal Justice programs in the Country, plus opened a new medical school. We have to have something going for us.

I know. Always wondered that. But I think most players need practice in this area.they always get too crazy running fast and not realizing to just bat it back, like the first guy did. Even see it in nfl.
