I dont think Western Illinois or Missouri State consider beating a 7-4 North Dakota State team that went 3-8 the year before their biggest wins in school history... doubtful Montana does either.

neither has a FBS win. so yea, maybe that year is a stretch.

Montana 1000% has that Wentz win as their biggest ever, its all they talk about on Egriz.

But if we weren’t in it was it really a championship?

Pfft. UND's biggest DI win was losing to Fresno State 22-27 in 2011 because that got them ranked for the first time... nothing to do with people mistaking them for NDSU.

USD's biggest win still has to be beating the Gophers in 2010. That still boggles my mind. The only teams they beat that year: Minnesota, NW Oklahoma State, UND, and Northern Colorado. NDSU's meager offense that year ran for 350 yards against them. Beating NDSU has to be close since it was such a huge upset, but we didn't know that Carson was playing with a broken throwing hand (among other injuries.)

yea that USD Gophers game had the USD QB literally running and scrambling every play and Brewster was too stubborn to adjust and gophers were 2-10 that year i think.

The "team" that convinced the NCAA to reduce the scholarship numbers in DII 30'ish years ago.

That "team" (different players, same concept) is going to do the same thing to FCS for the same reason.

I think 2016 JMU has to top this list.

Also, Fuckem.

To be fair*, that has to be the biggest FCS v FCS win in history, right?

Biggest School Win period. Montana, UNI, SDSU, USD UND Indy St for sure are NDSU i'd say... so that was my point of starting this.

NDSU's Biggest win= #13 Iowa

I live in Missoula, and I can attest to it.

They talk about two wins all the time.

2009 App State
2015 NDSU

NDSU way more though...they really talk about it quite often to be honest. It is funny though. You ask them about what happened in the playoffs and they get really quite really fast....

Interesting... I would argue our first championship over Sam Who in 2011 would be pretty close to the top, as it started one of the greatest dynasties in the history of sports. But then I guess you could argue that our last championship win is the real frontrunner because it continues the streak, extends the dynasty.

Any smart James Madison fan would think winning a playoff game in Fargo is higher than beating YSU in Frisco, and on the same level as beating Va Tech
