North Dakota State Fills Football schedule

North Dakota State University filled the final date of its 2005 football schedule with the University of Arkansas at Monticello The game is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Fargodome. The announcement was made today by NDSU Director of Athletics Gene Taylor. He said the game will either have a 6 or 7 p.m. kickoff

Interesting... I heard rumors of CSP. :-/ UAM tied for third place in the GSC last year, which is arguably the best conference in DII.

Arkansas is in the SEC.

Arkansas State and Ark.-Little Rock are in the Sun Belt.

Ark. Pine Bluff is a black school in the SWAC.

Central Ark., Southern Ark., Ark. Monticello, Henderson State, and Ark. Tech are in the GSC.


So we got the low end of the Ark. public schools.

Yes, Concordia St Paul was interested in playing the Bison but apparently could not get out of its existing game that week.

Taylor said he was trying to land Concordia-St. Paul for the Sept. 1 game, but the Bears couldn't get out of a game against Minnesota-Duluth.


Wow, I wonder what little D coordinator from our favorite team did everything he could to block this in a fit of jealousy.

The likelihood is that starting next season, the Gophers will be playing a home game each season against a Division I-AA program. Gophers athletic director Joel Maturi said his preference is to bring in regional I-AA schools, and he classifies four in that category: North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and Montana State.
