Here's one: "North Dakota State football played in Division II from 1922-2003"

Technically there was no Division II until the early 1970s. Before that it was something like University and College divisions.

You beat me to it. I thought that was odd, considering the source was the NCAA. Overall very well done though.

I didn't realize it's been that long since RJ played for us... Seems like only a few years ago.

Receiving touchdowns:

Zach Vraa (2011-15): 28
Tim Strehlow (1996-99): 26
Len Kretchman (1985-88): 24
T-4. RJ Urzendowski (1990-93): 22
T-4. TR McDonald (1990-93): 22

Its fun to scroll through the scores of all the games and remember where you were, feelings you had, etc. Its crazy the amount of games you have very specific memories of, and the ones you have no recollection of, whatsoever haha

The only way no recollection is acceptable is if it's caused by tailgating to hard.

TR McDonald is the guy that baffles my mind...in a good way. I think back to the type of offense the Bison were running back then and see his name at the top of the different receiving lists. What a stud!

Seems like he'd just get behind the DBs and somehow pull away with his long strides. And he caught EVERYTHING that even came close to him.

We had a rule in college that we could leave if NDSU went up 14.

Championship game was over by the first. Once Hunter trucked that DB in the endzone and stared down at his crumpled body, it was game over.

With the drive before that ending in the fake field goal punt, it was pretty much at that point I stopped cheering (except for yelling my ass off on defense every down, of course) and entered post-game party mode. I think I spent the entire second quarter dancing. I had a good pre-game tailgate.

Big Sky teams always make for dull games in general. Montana's the exception but even then that was what? Twice? And once when we were D2?

"b-but EWU" they play on a red field and run the air raid bro gtfo

At University of Montana in 2015(?) was one of the best games I've been to as far as back and forth, still not happy with how we lost that game.

EWU title game wasn't really sealed until Stick's long run late IIRC. And the game in Cheney in 2010 was one of the best road trips I've ever been on. Epic game with a memorable finish and a loooooooooooooooong train ride home.

When someone isn't familiar with bison football that's the clip I show them. He didn't have to run that guy over. He chose to.

And it was beautiful.

2018 team being ranked 6th shows a clear error in the method. That teams was absolutely lethal. They would have beaten 2019 and would have given 2013 a hell of a game and maybe win.

As much as we all love that 13 team, cause it was the best of the first 3.....they were middle of the road when compared to all the rest.

You could make an argument that the 2018 NDSU team is better than 6th best in the history of the FCS. I mean, there have been only six undefeated national champions in the history of the FCS and three of them are NDSU teams.

As for 2018 v 2019 - I won't pick favorites on that.

The 2018 team had a much better offense, but don't discount the 2013 defense. They were lights out.

It’d be a really close game, I think, ‘18 vs ‘19... And a lot of redundancy at some key positions, so it’s kind of a weird thought exercise…

whats the current record in the Dynasty? 165-15 ??

Also what Dominic Gonnnella said to the FLorida Writer is the EPITOME of NDSU DYNASTY..
"what did I learn? Losing wasn't tolerated. If you lost, it was a disaster. You did everything to make sure losing didn't happen and that was really a mindset. When I got there, I knew seniors who had never lost a game (the Bison had a 39-game winning streak). Losing was simply not an option in that program!"

SO TRUE

If you mean what's NDSU's record since the start of the 2011 season, then the record is 161-15.

Some people consider that 1964 is the start of NDSU's dynasty though.

Without them the program wouldn't be where it is now. Mudra was a master at turning programs into winners. And Ron Erhardt continued to build it into a DI-caliber program. He actually wanted to go DI then. His teams were plenty good. Many, many teams in the DII era were easily good enough to compete in DI-AA.

When you’ve got NDSU vs North Texas in a final, something seems amiss.
