Wow, what a surprising score to wake up to against Austin Peay! Anyone have expert analysis to provide?

Their defense got kicked in the sac.

Sac St's QB (Big Sky OPOY and Craig Haley's pick for the Payton Award) had a disastrous first half. I believe at one point in the 3rd quarter he was 7-25 for 75 yards or something like that.

Austin Peay has a really good really aggressive defense and it took Sac St's offense a long time to adjust. By the time they did they were down 4 TDs and their defense was gassed so APSU was moving the ball themselves with little resistance.

Austin Peay's QB Javaughn Craig is also really good. Runs the ball extremely well and has a great arm but gets a little erratic (think less accurate version of Trey Lance).

It should be a great matchup between Austin Peay and Montana St. Both teams are playing really well right now.

I watched a little bit of that one and they were totally dominated.

If they make it to Fargo. I'm totally using this in the tailgating portapotty line.

APSU looked a lot like NDSU in the 2010 play off run they are playing lights out right now I have a feeling they will get the win at MT St.

After going up 14-0, Austin P successfully executed an onside kick and score a few plays later. They definitely looked like the better team but it was hard to tell if it was Sac St underperforming or Austin P just putting it all on the line to win a game. Probably a combination of both.

I watched the whole game . ... SacState looked and played like they were disinterested and didn't want to be there. Very little energy by SacSt players. The pre-game pouring rain probably didn't help their attitude. At one point the SacSt QB was something like 15 for 43 passing missing WR with huge overthrows.

Fan support was almost non-existent also.... maybe 1,500 in the stands.

SacSt got most of their points in the 2d half garbage time after AP went up 21-28 points and started playing soft prevent defense allowing SacSt to get their passing game going.

So the folks who developed the Austin Peay cheers etc are the very same group who recently worked for the state of S.D. on their meth campaign?

We used to drive down to AP for football when I went to Murray State in the 70s (no jokes please)
Those cheers aren’t new. But if the shoe fits...

I don’t. Very difficult for an eastern team to travel 2-3 time zones two weeks in a row and play well the second week. Look at Maine last year. Totally dominant one week, sucked like shit the next. I expect similar results, especially since it will be really f’ing cold, cold enough to freeze your Peay.

Agreed. And Montana St is on a roll as well... even their QB and passing game looked good yesterday against Albany.

Coastal Carolina went out to either Montana or Montana State in 2014 and won in brutal cold. Granted I don't know if CC traveled the week before, but I know the cold didn't bother CC as much as it did the team from Montana.

Watched most of that game... Sacramento State was throwing long balls over the middle in double coverage constantly to start the game. It was like they had Chuck D. Pigskin scripting their plays. I thought it was the worst play-calling I've seen to start a game ever. But then I watched ISU-Red's sequence on their first drive (starting at their own 5): Rollout pass with strip sack saved by penalty. They then found a way to run Robinson four times for -1 yards. Then, suddenly, their OC pulled his head out of his ass and they started rolling. Their QB looked pretty good too.

2012 Sam Huston went to Montana St for the quarterfinals, Friday night game and kicked Montana States ass up and down the field. Coldest I’ve ever been in my entire life and it didn’t have any affect on the team from Texas.

CC won in Missoula, much to the chagrin of Grizdom.
