I like this one...

"Welcome to the home of the O.G. Aggies."

*I think

I think that's a very good bet. UC Davis didn't have a football team until 1916 and NDSU adopted "Aggies" in the early 1900's.

BTW, this is the 100th year of NDSU using the Bison nickname.

UC Davis established 1905... so yup... we were aggies first

UC Davis uses the phrase
#uncommonengineering
So if someone can come up with something for that......*

*makes me think of that collapsing barn near Hillsboro painted with “UND Senior Engineering Project” or something similar.

Is it the 100th year? I ask because I know the coach who got the name changed from Aggies to Bison was hired in 1919, but it has always been my understanding that the name change wasn't "official" until 1921. Do you have another source other than Wikipedia?

NDAC was known as Farmers in the 1890's and early 1900's switched to Aggies then to Bison. Bison nickname as official in March of 1922. Bison name was the idea of Stan Borleske who was AD. He wanted a strong and fierce mascot. Information found on gobison.com site.

Might as well add a sign for Saybein for the next 4 years.

"You serious, Clark?"

And, actually, 1919 was the date I had when this site was first made. Here's one of the site's original pages: http://www.bisonville.com/history.html That means the info probably came from a football media guide.

1922 was when the lettermen's club voted to adopt the nickname officially* for all sports so I can see how there'd be some confusion.

Now, the way to prove it would be to find an old Spectrum or Fargo Forum that uses the nickname in 1919.

* or as officially as things could be done back then

:facepalm::rofl::rolleyes::badpc::uhyeah::blush::f acepalm2:::rolleyes:
And.....
Throwing my hands up in the air!!! :)

True story: Yesterday I made a sign... took hours to say the least... thought it would be a nice gesture.
Tonight I read something online. Put the sign under the bed with all the other “retired” signs. Wasted $45. Oh well.
Ya win some & ya lose some.
