The watch party list has not yet been updated for this year, but in past years, there has been one at:

BJ’s Cocktail Lounge

For those of us that live in the cities, this is like a class reunion. Much like the last Gopher game at TCF all of our NDSU friends come to town and its an entire weekend of celebration. As a matter of fact I skipped my 20 year HS reunion for that Gopher Bison game in 2011.

I know some get their undies in a bunch about the opponent, but for me its more of a reunion. Can't wait.

Now imagine what it would be like against a halfway decent team. I know many people that said ehhhh and are not going. It will be a good party though and the ones that go will have a fun time. Better than playing a DII at home as it will bring something new and interesting.

The real head pounder is why they didn't just include the remainder of the top ten. I'm glad our football team isn't that lazy. What would it have taken, 30 extra key strokes? Heck just do what I did, cut and paste.

This is from about the only Pioneer League poster on AGS:

NDSU might be the best team in FCS, and Butler might be the worst.

Even with Pace Temple and a decent quarterback, Butler was bottom 20 material last year. With their best 2018 players gone, this could be an abysmal Butler team. I'm talking "sigh of relief we're not playing San Diego this year, because we'd lose by 50" abysmal.

Whatever Butler is getting paid, it's not enough.

There's a flip side to having a new QB and new coaches also... they're going to want to show that they can keep this train rolling. I think you'll be shocked.

I believe Butler lost a lot from last year’s team, which went 4-7 that included a decisive lost to Valparaiso.

Definitely not a new coach. Coach Vories has been there for several years. It's possible some assistants have turned over. It does appear they have a new QB. Their current roster has a senior, a sophomore and 3 freshmen. The 2 upper classmen saw limited time last year so very little starting experience. Looks like they've been recruiting heavily in the Chicago area. They only have 13 Indiana kids on the roster, but most are from decent HS teams. Michael Tutsie may see a few former opponents. I also just noticed their back up kicker was a friend of my son!

They may be slightly better than a good D3 team but it won't be much of a challenge for the Bison.

This game wont be close...even with all the variables...anything shy of a 5 TD win means big problems. We should easily execute all aspects of the game. Sure, the players are human and there are bound to be a couple of mistakes, but this game is the equivalent of playing our scout team...and that's being generous.

The locker room for the players and officials are in the lower level and they all come down a ramp and tunnel to get to the field. It's not a huge stadium but it's nestled nicely into a bowl. We have our college official study group meetings there every Monday night during the season. Butler is definitely a premiere school in Indiana.

It’s a 100-yard field, 54 yards wide, 20 yards from the hash to the sideline, goalposts at each end — it’s football,” Voris said.

They went Hoosiers on us! That's it, the game's over, we lose. Bench Trey and fire Entz now.

Fair point. I recall a few years ago I was up in Fargo for a game that was out hand. Sometime in the third quarter I wandered down to concessions and asked for a beer, any beer at all. They looked at me quizzically but the server dutifully checked with her supervisor to verify that indeed they had none for sale. I was dumbfounded so you are right, it pays to ask.

That said I will be shocked if the MN Twins organization took this deal without the ability to sell well overpriced beer.

Our success has been due in large part to our depth. These games give 2's and 3's an opportunity to get lots of actual game reps. But beyond that, for this year anyway, our 14 or 15 new 1's and new coaching staff will get lots of valuable game experience without the outcome of the game being in doubt.

Looking back at the seasons NDSU won the National Championship the past eight years, they had at least one fairly easy OOC game (usually two) except for one season - 2016. With the toll the MVFC takes on the players, playing three to four more tough games does not fare well for the team. However, with the F'Hawkers now being a yearly thing again, maybe NDSU only needs one easy OOC game.

Our success has been due in large part to our depth. These games give 2's and 3's an opportunity to get lots of actual game reps. But beyond that, for this year anyway, our 14 or 15 new 1's and new coaching staff will get lots of valuable game experience without the outcome of the game being in doubt.I can understand that. Especially with all the turnover we have in new players, new QB, and new coaches coming into this season. It'll probably take a while to get all the kinks out.

That was a big reason we didn't 8peat!

Looks like they've opened up tickets in the upper level endzone now. Some upper deck corners available as well as random singles. Not great seats but anyone who wants to get in the door certainly can.

In this particular case I believe there is also a significant set of zeros on a check from the Twins organization. Thought somebody said it will be a payout similar to an FBS game.

I kind of like this OOC schedule with all of our roster turnover. Start out with a probable easy game, with each succeeding game getting maybe a little tougher...

Exactly. This will be a live scrimmage. Next week will have a little juice to it, moderately tough road game the week after, then a legit top 5 game that they match up exceeding well against.

Yeah..its called every bar in downtown Minneapolis!!! In all seriousness, the only one I have seen is the one Midwest Sports tours is doing near Target Field. Pretty good deal for food and all you can drink options. Look them up online or on Facebook.

Such bad journalism.

"First ever football game at Target field" and this gem:

"The Bisons are know for their high-flying offenses, which have featured NFL quarterbacks Carson Wentz and Easton Stick"

The Bisons. And high-flying offense. Smh.

Well, at least they got the University's name right.

I've seen the offensive line send some defenders flying, does that count?

As I'm laughing at the Facebook comments from the apparent hundreds of people in New Brighton who thought that either the world was ending or a plane was crashing into their house and/or started crying and are still shaking from the shock, trama and noise from 4 F16's flying over town 2 minutes before the Bunny game kicked off, it got me wondering if we'll have a fly over on Saturday. Anyone know?

As I've said before, you get what you pay for. And we all read it for free. I am concerned the writer may have suffered a stroke while typing "Sznadjer"....

Overly confident!

Yeah. Within 5 TDs will be nice. (Just keeping it real--not casting aspersions.)

And it'll be nice if we can put up points (any points) against NDSU's first team.

As bad as Butler might be, I find it interesting that they did come from behind to beat Youngstown last year. So who knows, it might be more of a game than we think it will be.

I'm going against my normal adherence to Sagarin, and predicting a hard fought 42-10 win for the Bison.

I think they're saving that for the UND game.
