I doubt it, but absolutely no mention of holding them back in the press release.

Discuss.

It's smart. Sell them to Bison fans at a premium and make a mint. Makes a lot more sense than trying to hoard them and playing in front of a bunch of empty seats.

That would require swallowing a lot of pride.......we did kind of crucify them for it.

BTW, another source told me NDSU does not expect them to be available for general sale, but who knows how reliable that is.

It would seem kind of silly to me for them to mark those ticket prices up so high and then pull the freeze out move again. So they'd want to gouge their own fans? Price enough of them out so they'd have to sell some to NDSU fans to sell the thing out?

I don't pretend to understand their ticket selling strategy but the logical thing based on those price points would be to sell single game tickets to the NDSU game on 8/1 just like the rest of the games.

Lots of logic here......I fully agree with your reasoning, but they also may think they can have their cake and eat it too. (ie demand high enough they will sell it out at the premium price by game time and still be able to freeze out NDSU fans)

According to Scott in the ticket office tickets are available to anyone. They will have an interactive seating map online. He also said there were no restrictions.

They must have sold all the tickets, because all the games say sold out.

When I just checked for best available I was able to get tickets from row 1 section 117 that I could've put into my cart.

You have to have a username/login created on their site and be logged in with it. Then if you go to Buy Tickets->Football->Group & Special Offers you can see the list of games. Once you're in the NDSU game choose the "Special Offers" tab (next to the "Seat Map" and "Best Available" tabs) and you can select seating tiers from there. It doesn't matter since they're all the same price but I chose price level 3 to get those section 117 row 1 seats to show up.

I think they priced out a lot of their own fans. They didn't even come near a sell out for the USD game in Brookings last year with tickets $20 cheaper (although that game was in mid-November).

I wonder if trying to figure out how to get rid of all those tickets 2 years ago before they went on sale to the general public was such a royal pain in their rear they just said "screw it... give us your green & yellow money"???

Maybe their corporate partners weren't willing to buyout this game every other year.

I just signed up for the SDSU website and bought 6 tickets in Section 119.

I then received an email that I had jumped to number 177 on their fans priority points list, based of that being my only purchase ever.

Other than the fact that is $522 right into SDSU coffers, nice.

When I received the season tickets yesterday, I was asked why the prices were different for ours.
Yes, some are more but none as large as the Bunny gap between our game and the rest.

It's a better strategy than their 2017 NDSU game ticket scheme was.

^This. At least they're letting anyone from anywhere buy these tickets. And if I was in their shoes I would do the same thing. Why not take advantage of a rival fan base that shows up in hoards?

I just got back from company meetings in Sioux Falls. The locals are quite pissed that they jacked the prices up so high. Their comments are "we cant get fans to the game with $35 tickets, who do you think is going to buy all the $60 tickets to the game? It's going to be all ndsu" they then asked how much our tickets are and were shocked by our average price
