Holden told me in an interview (https://247sports.com/college/north-dakota-state/Article/NDSU-QB-Holden-Hotchkiss-to-transfer-from-school-132756205/) that he is leaving North Dakota State and heading back to Florida.

Good luck to Holden. Not all that surprising.

Good Luck Holden. Wish you all the best to follow your dreams. Thank you for being a Bison.

He read the writing on the wall with Lance's usage last year and Noland's transfer. It just didn't work out here but he's got the talent for a fresh start elseqhere that he can hopefully make the most of.

Hope it goes well for him. I felt kind of bad when Noland came in. I think that put Hotchkiss one step deeper on the roster than he thought he might be. I'm sure he'll have some great opportunities for getting more field time somewhere else. Thanks for your contributions and best of luck back in Florida!

As long as we continue to have QB success there are 3 models for non starters. The Cole Davis, James Hendricks/Esley Thorton, or Derek McGinnis.

I'd much rather we do this than get caught flat footed without a QB prospect in every class.

Good luck to Holden, would love to see him sit up for my second fave FCS team, the Stetson Hatters

Not surprised either and best of luck to him. Can’t really blame the kid for going somewhere else if he wants to play. It’d be very hard to crack the lineup here.

Would he have been the presumptive third string QB?

That would be my guess.

Good luck Holden. I hope he found his time as a Bison worthwhile and helps him find success wherever he goes next.

In speaking with him, it really did seem like he felt his time in Fargo was worth it.

I dont think anyone is really surprised that one of the QBs would be leaving. It was just a matter of who wasnt willing to sit on the bench any further. As we recruit a QB with each class we will see more movement.

Plenty of Florida FCS schools, heck at this point he might as well take a shot at a FIU, FAU type school

I drive by Stetson U several times per week. That would be a good landing spot. I saw a mention, perhaps on Twitter, he was looking at USF...

You don’t have to stay for long these days. Holden will always have a couple rings.

All the best to Holden in the future. Tough situation and I don't blame him one bit. He looked pretty good in the pocket during the garbage time he got, I suspect he will do well anywhere.

Also, this tells me that Tre is probably looking the part which is super encouraging for that question mark we still have under center...

And the walk on Sanders is still with the team. I love that he already outlasted two scholarship players. (granted, one was year older, but think it still counts....)

The awesome part for Bison fans is that Holden might be a starter on at least 80% of FCS teams and was probably 3rd or 4th on the depth chart.

Sanders has always appeared very committed to being a Bison. Wouldn't surprise me to see him either switch positions or stick it out as a backup. Up

Gives me an excuse to link this. Fuck you, Lane Kiffin. From his departure from Tennessee. https://youtu.be/kKlDnF-Y3IU

Remember our run for a NC in the early 2000s? We went through 3 QBs! Good luck somewhere!

Apparently the Tennessee fan doesn't know that Lane grew up in Bloomington, MN. A former coworker was a neighbor of his while his dad, Monte, was a coach with the Vikings.

We lost 2 quarterbacks in a Quarterfinal game at Omaha and went to Delta State the next week to play in the kitty litter bowl with our 3rd string QB.

Okay. I have officially become spoiled. I have come to think of NC runs as being multiple years and championships.

If that is a Kitty Litter Bowl it would have to be KLB II. The real and/or first KLB was played in Davis, CA when the field was so muddy they actually put kitty litter on the field in a feeble attempt to dry it out. Gordie or Bob will have to help me out here but 1982 maybe?

The 2000 team was robbed. That semi final should have been in Fargo. I think Delta State won the title by about 50 points too

Sure the 2000 team was robbed; but remember, Roger the Dodger Thomas was the rep for committee that allowed this travesty to occur. No way he was going to cut any breaks for Bison football.

Stop being so modest. 99% at least.

you are absolutely correct. It would have to be at least 99% in the eyes of the Bisonville faithful.

They would loose in the semis to the backups, who would loose in the title to the starters.

Yabut the committee hates NDSU so they'd put all 3 NDSU squads on the same side of the bracket... probably playing each other right off the bat. Save the travel budget and all....
