This should sell out pretty quick.

Wonder if Carson is combining this event with a workout with his WR's at the same time.

Lots of good seats left. They are a bit pricey ($35 or $50) but it goes to a good cause.

I really thought this would sell out or pretty close today. I got row 3 in a section to the right of Homeplate at 10 am and best avail 6 hours later is still row 7 there out of 20 rows.

They announced Turner-Jensen-DeLuca-Emanuel and many other bison stars. I wonder if they didn't need like a Josh Duhamel or a Vikings star or something.

I also wonder if the Scheels meet and greet promo is holding them back since they are giving 75 winners 4 tickets each. So a lot of people might just be holding out trying to win that contest and they don't announce till June 14.

It's an awesome idea, however, as I discussed with my family, they are playing softball, not football. That just doesn't have the appeal to me.

haha.. it was born on NDSU at Milwaukee Basketball game with Ben Woodside. My cousin was a huge Wisc Badgers fan, he met us there in a Flax grain jacket (actual flax seed glued together) he kept telling people he was a flax farmer from Hoople ND. that was the night he laughed in Saul's face when Saul bragged about our big state of wisc recruit nate zastrow

and yes Carson Wentz cannot play. but Zach Wentz former NDSU baseball star will!

Hope it does well...I think kids would be more excited about the sanford power workout as generally of they know Carson and are a fan they're probably playing football. Plus there are 7,250 more opportunities on the softball game.

My wife signed up my son and he was over the moon when she told him. He did get to meet Carson in the youth camp summer before his senior year and wife took their picture together too so hopefully some day he looks back on that memory fondly!

I'd signed up for the scheels meet and greet as well. As thought that would be a cool opportunity as well hopefully now someone else wins that as seems a bit selfish if we get in on both of these!

I have talked to so many people today who don’t know anything about the audience of One softball game on June 26th!
The roster is pretty impressive!
Some of the players on the team offense include:
Jensen, Smith, Illies, Haeg, Roehl, Morlock, Walker, Turner, Messner, Albers, Cyr, Kuhnert, & Connor Wentz.
Team defense includes: Heagle, Board, Emanuel, Olson, Schommer, Jirik, Littlejohn, J Tuszka, Tanguay, Lavoy, Thornton.

Not to confuse this with what we do for the Veterans for Football...
but if anyone ends up with extra tickets for this softball game... & rather than have them go to waste, if you would choose to donate them to a veteran, feel free to contact me if you would like any assistance with that. We have many veterans right in Fargo who would be capable of attending. Or if anyone would like to join me in purchasing general admission tickets for Veterans, please let me know. It’s just a thought as long as tickets are available. This is not a big project (like the football game) only a simple thought ... if anyone is interested.

TKC is a ministry. The food is free from my understanding. Volunteers from the church Carson attended in Fargo will be moving through the crowds ministering a message Carson and his pastors have worked on. They have already been implementing the truck and ministry teams at Eagles' games. If you grab food, don't shrug them off but hear them out and respect that Carson and some churches just provided you a meal.

A lot of youth t-ball/little league etc happening in June timeframe. I know in Hillsboro they pack June til it bursts pretty much. Leaves part of July and a little bit of August before football (HS/youth) starts up. Not sure how it is totally in Fargo but got imagine it is somewhat similar. I'm sure Carson has a schedule too though, and the fact that it's only been known about for what a month or so now? If he keeps an annual thing maybe it'll get to be a bigger draw.

In the end, it's a charity softball game on a weeknight. Dont get me wrong, I'd go if I lived in the area but they rarely sell a crazy amount of tickets. Philadelphia got 15k with a team full of eagles players. Micah Hyde's for the Buffalo Bills had barely anyone there (i think it generated $ 40k total in profits counting the tickets and donations).

All bigger metro areas.

My mistake. I mistook the game last year as a one off and missed the story from the one earlier this year. I was under the impression that this game replaced the one in Philly. Good to see that the charity didn't suffer from location.

Looks a lot more full than the seat map showing un-purchased seats I looked at this morning. Most of the reserved sections look full from where I'm sitting. Hardly anyone in the outfield bleachers but no there's a bunch of people just standing on the rail of the concourse which I assume is people with GA tickets.

Considering the Redhawks dont sell outfield seats (those were created with the temporary fence) it must have been pretty big.

They said on the radio the only empty spots were in the sun and the concourse was packed.

Pictures seemed to show the same. Not too shabby for a softball game lol

Crowd was huge!! They decided to play 9 innings instead of 7. I think it may be too light out for fireworks. Great game, lots of home runs. Drago’s diving catch falling over the wall to rob a home run should be on ESPN top 10...seriously. Esley Thorton winning the home run derby in work gloves might be the most amazing moment of the night!!

Looking at that picture, that's gotta be one of the biggest games in Newman Outdoor Field history. Forum said about 5k. Capacity is 4513 plus they sold some outfield seats which arent available at normal games

Considering Redhawks tickets cost between $4 to $11, and these were $20 to 50... highest grossing game ever!

If we ever need to raise some money for Bison Athletics and have some fun???

4000 x $30 = 120 grand
Plus Newman Outdoor Field will make some serious dough on beer and concession sales

They were encouraging people to get in line for the food truck & all of the workers were SO kind. As you went to get your
Water & chips, one person was handing out Carson’s AO1 Book which Explains a bit about the foundation and Christianity.

Joe Haeg missed a pop fly in the out field then immediately after slipped right on his keister. The fielder beside him had to play the ball behind him. Could be a top 10 worst play of the week. It made me laugh though.

If they do it again, they need to try to get some Eagle and Vikings players. That would keep the draw strong. You'd think they could get Thielen to come since local, and may Dallas Goedert. (I've forgiven him of being a rabbit; one of the best talents I've seen play against NDSU.)

I think it was just fine with the guys they had. You could tell they were competitive but due to the fact that many of them were past teammates they still had a good time razzing each other and I think they genuinely enjoyed being "on the same team" again for a few hours even if they were in opposite dugouts.

Personally, I think I enjoyed it more due to the fact that everyone out there was a former Bison player. Now maybe if they put together a team of former Bison players and then a team of non-Bison players (like Goedert, Thielen, etc) and played against each other it would be pretty cool. But if they just mixed in a few non-Bison with the rest of the guys being former Bison players I'm not sure it would make it any more entertaining.

What a great atmosphere. When Connor Wentz hit that ball of the top of the scoreboard, my kids eyes are about as big as dinner plates (that guy can smash a softball; did they used juiced balls?). The weather was actually perfect and the players seem to have a great time.

I don't think the crowd was as big as some suggest. Lots of empty seats. I had purchased tickets for myself and my son, then a couple of cousins wanted to go at the last minute (like 5:30 last night) and when I pulled it up on my phone, in Section B where we had our two seats, less than half of the seats were sold. Nearly all of the $35 seats were open and I was able to buy 4 more adjacent to our original 2. We sat in Row 18 and at one point there was no one in row 18 or row 19 and Section B was maybe 1/2 full. I know lots of folks were in the concourse too looking for shade, but it was far from a sell out.

Great event and sounds like they want to make it an annual event. My take is don't add any players, unless it is a well-known Eagles player or something just to add a bit of flavor. I liked the mix of Bison-NFL'rs and local guys. I had an emotional connection to nearly everyone on the field which made it cool and special.

We'll see. If they do make it an annual thing I think this type of event will see the Frisco/ESPN Gameday type effect where word of mouth from those who went reaches those who didn't and the next year is bigger than the previous year was. It only happens once a year so I don't see it getting stale for as long as they want to keep doing it.

EDIT: I'm sure they've got better thinkers than me when it comes to this but they could also mix up the format/teams to spice things up year-to-year. Might be fun in a few years to see the 2013-ish alumni take on the 2018-ish alumni. Settle the debate about which undefeated team is better! Hopefully by then we've got another undefeated team to throw in the mix. :)

There are so many Charity groups that have a very hard time getting 20 somethings involved that it is great to see all the guys stepping up and continuing to give back to the community after their time here. They don't have to, they don't need to but they did and I for one respect that.

Looks pretty good to me. Figure got 50-100 in the outfield (they don't sell outfield tickets for regular games), a bunch of people looking down from the concourse, bunch of people under the main concourse getting out of the sun.. and like Bison Nation is known for... the beer garden line was probably longer than the bathrooms at the Fargodome. Probably 90% capacity but a huge revenue generator for AO1

If this could turn into an annual thing, it would be great for the community. Glad to hear it's coming back next year.

A trip for 10 to Philadelphia on a private jet for a game went for approximately $25,000.
Mrs. Scheels announced they would match up to $100,000 in donations if others would donate. Many people donated $10,000 each... then they went to $5000 increments, $1000. - $500. Etc. they raised well over $200,000 by doing this.
