Butler - In Minneapolis as has been subject of threads and much discussed already. Some surprising wins last year. Head coach been there 24 years with 74-72 record. Has new O-Line coach for 2019 season.

_ND - Changing Offensive from Pro-Set to Spread under new OC Danny FreUND. https://undfootball360.com/news/five-spring-ball-storylines/ Question is if they have the talent on hand to immediately make that change. Fre_ND was not on board for the recruiting process

Delaware - At Delaware. Again has been the subject of previous threads. From Practice #8 [26Mar]: "QB- Everyone's favorite position has Kehoe throwing NFL bombs and Henderson playing laser tag with any receiver under 30 yards. Again, there is limited pressure and that makes a huge difference but we have 3 good quarterbacks moving forward."

UC Davis - at Aggie Stadium. "North Dakota State is going to be a VERY interesting game. They lose their top 2 RBs, their QB, top receiver, and 3 of their top 4 tacklers not to mention their coaching situation is up in the air. I think we likely lose to Cal and don't get me wrong NDSU will likely still be very good, but everything else seems winnable." Retuning QB Jake Maier QBS tops in FCS https://herosports.com/fcs/football-top-returning-passers-jake-maier-bzbz

UC Davis is at the Dome. Opps, yep you are correct. UC Davis doesn't even show NDSU on their schedule (http://www.aggiesportstalk.com/discussion/10/future-schedules) for 2019. Must have been looking at 2017 schedule.

Seems like a recipe for disaster: New offensive scheme with a new, inexperienced Coordinator who was not integral in the recruiting process. We shall see.

Yes he will but we aren't changing our offensive scheme.

Going from a power run game to a spread is a really big change. It's like night and day. One bright side for UND, they weren't very good at their previous offense so maybe their personnel are better suited to the spread scheme.

Ya but I’m sure the undies offensive coordinator is 10xs smarter than Roehl plus they are way more talented. Remember the BISON are in a big decline while the undies will be competing for national championships 😳😳😳😳

Got to agree with Hando over Lakes. At least Butler and UN_ bring a fun vibe, and Delaware on the road should be an okay test.

Questions, answers for UND football (https://www.inforum.com/sports/football/1003949-Questions-answers-for-UND-football)

Q. How does the new offense look so far?

A. The new-look offense still has improvements to make. Part of the issue is recruiting for many years to an offense featuring multiple tight ends to an offense that might not feature any tight ends.

Article in the Forum about questions for the und '19 season. Aside from the new offense, they need new starters for running backs, need a nose tackle, lots of new wide receivers needed for spread offense, special teams were shaky, punter and kicker were inconsistent. But, but other than that, they're going to be great this year.

The full schedule.

(https://www.inforum.com/sports/football/1007073-A-look-at-the-Missouri-Valley-Football-Conference-schedules-for-2019)FTA: "The 2019 college football season will be a unique one for the Football Championship Subdivision, as teams will be permitted to schedule 12 games instead of the traditional eleven this fall. North Dakota State will play 12 games, which includes six home games and another game played at Target Field. A majority of the Valley will play 12 games, outside of Missouri State, the Bears will play just eleven games next season."

Cal Davis QB Jake Maier tops Craig Haley’s 2019 Top-10 QB watch list

2018 Statistics: 364-for-557 (65.4 percent), 3,931 yards, 34 TDs, 10 INTs, 141.19 QB efficiency; 3 TDs rushing (13 games)

What to Know: Maier guided UC Davis to its best FCS season last year. He followed wide receiver Keelan Doss as the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the year, but in 2019 he will no longer be able to connect with the leading Division I pass catcher of the past two seasons. Originally a Sacred Heart commit intending to play on the other coast, the Long Beach City (Calif.) College transfer has a quick release and is accurate enough to throw into traffic. Despite the loss of Doss, a strong offense returns around Maier, who passed for more yards and touchdowns than any returning FCS signal-caller.

https://athlonsports.com/college-football/fcs-football-top-10-quarterbacks-watch-2019?amp

Other names include:

9. Ryan Boyle, Indiana State
5. Eric Barriere, Eastern Washington

Was surprised to see Case Cookus of Northern Arizona on the list.
8th year senior or something like that :)
He has had injury problems, so hopefully his senior season is a healthy campaign.
Tom Flacco might be the most famous name on the list, “only” 6’ 1”, so is Joe’s little, younger brother.

It will be VERY interesting to see how we stack up against UC Davis. Obviously my money is on the Bison by 28+ but we will know how legit we are after that game.

Not saying that UC Davis is a perennial heavy weight, but they're a known commodity with a legit QB and I expect them to be in a similar post season situation as last year.
If we blow em out, we havent lost a step imo

Pathetic for both programs. Haha

Butler is a great school in a great city so they have the potential to pick up some decent football players even though they are non-scholarship. It also makes them up and down and less depth than a scholarship FCS program, but on any given day the good pioneer teams can upset decent FCS teams. I don't expect this game to be that close, but it should still be fun! I'm sure the Butler players are going to love the experience.
