Take a look at this poll. NDSU went from 23rd to 22nd after beating Northwestern State and Northwestern State went from 17th to 11th. Believe it or not. What is up with that?

Must be an error. Polls this early in the season don't mean anything anyway. The rank at the end of the year is what they are after.

Yeah, I think they updated the records, but not the votes. JMU is still in first place after losing to unranked CCU. ???

The updated poll probably won't be available until monday. It seems most committee polls are not released until mondays or tuesdays.

Poll doesn't come out until Monday. Read this article from the Sports Network talking about all the upsets.

It might not be the most respected poll (although he does have enough audacity to move teams more than three or four spots for a win or loss), but the Dopke poll is out and has NDSU at #6 * :o-

http://www.dopke.com/IAARankings.htm

1 * * *Southern Illinois (2-0) * * *Beat Union, KY 82-7
2 * * *New Hampshire (1-0) * * *DNP
3 * * *Western Kentucky (2-0) * * *Beat Eastern Kentucky 23-21
4 * * *Montana (1-1) * * *Lost to Oregon 14-47
5 * * *Montana State (1-1) * * *Beat Stephen F. Austin 42-6
6 * * *North Dakota State (2-0) * * *Beat Northwestern State 35-7
7 * * *Northern Iowa (2-0) * * *Beat Minnesota-Duluth 49-14
8 * * *Delaware (1-0) * * *Beat Lehigh 34-33
9 * * *Harvard (0-0) * * *DNP
10 * * *William & Mary (1-1) * * *Beat VMI 41-7

That's a little too high IMO.

Edit- Actually Dopke should be a ranking, as it's only one person and not a group doing the ranking.

Good article kchats. Sports Network has this to say about NDSU's game:

Best Top 25 Win: No. 20 North Dakota State 35, No. 9 Northwestern State 7

With so many losses in the top 25, it wasn’t hard to figure which ranked team scored the most impressive victory............

#6 is probably to high at this point. We have alot of season left. I think something around #10 or #11 is more reasonable.

But equally ranked to high is New Hampshire. I don't feel they deserve #2 after narrowly escaping Davis. They played very poorly. And should I-AA football be promoting its #1 rated team that got there by rolling over a couple of should-be pushovers?!! SIU has really been a big letdown the last few years after being ranked so high in the regular season.

I do like the idea of having Montana, Montana State, and North Dakota State one after another. Reverse the order though ;)

For the record, in my vote I dropped NSU a few spots below the Bison, and I slotted NDSU at #13....ahead of Cal Poly. Like I also said, though, the Bison should have been ranked ahead of CP all along.
