I saw this SBNation article linked on a Sun Belt thread. Kind of a fun read. Sorry if it has already been posted elsewhere.

I would take us by at least 7 against every team from the MAC, Sun Belt, and CUSA home or away. At the dome I would pick us against the majority of the MWC and AAC but see us as underdogs at Utah State. The only teams that we would be dogs to at home or on the road would be Boise, Fresno, Memphis and UCF. I think we could beat any of those four on any given Saturday but we would have our hands full with Fresno and UCF this year.

This also came up in another thread, Sagarin, I think.

The Bison have proven that they can beat FBS teams. But that has been one-per-year. Much like the arguments against UCF, it is a different question of whether the Bison can win during the grind of a top conference with tough games every week. It isn't so much talent, but depth and discipline that I see in the Bison program that would make them competitive week-by-week against better teams.

I've thought about this quite a bit and use the same structure with different teams.

# of teams that NDSU would
likely be crushed by 7/8
likely be beaten by 15/20
be an even match up with 25
NDSU would likely beat 50
NDSU would destroy the rest

Maybe the title of the thread should be "Who would beat NDSU?"

Really should be, much shorter list.

Who could the Bison play competitively with? Almost all...

I've said this over the past five or so years, I truly believe NDSU could stay within 20 points of Alabama if they played their absolute best. The same goes for the Clemson team that showed up on Monday.

I agree and almost immediately after posting the thread, tried to go back and change the title to something to that effect. I then realized the thread title couldn't be edited. "Who would beat NDSU" is more in line with the article's title as well.

The 85 Bears, but it'd be close.

This...if we came to their house after Bohl being there 5-6 years and stomped them, Cowboys fans would be wtf? We hired their coach, how can this be? Takes a long time to build program and culture. Bohl of course would never do it...knows better.

Bohl thought they'd sneak in an easy win by scheduling the susies and got kicked. Little bit later the Bison showed him how it's done.

During this run, the Bison have been legitimately somewhere between 11-20 the entire stretch. I would agree with that article. The heavy blue chip schools would be tough and NDSU might pull an upset here and there but should lose. 15-25 should be close contests and nearly a toss up. The rest, NDSU should be favorites.

Basically, there is the top 8-10 programs and everyone else. It is also why the G5 schools should try to build their own brand with a playoff system and try to add the MVFC, CAA, and maybe the big fluffy.

Jason should tell the FSU AD to schedule the Bison so we can find out.

Funny how he lists much older victories over Kansas and Iowa State, but not more recent ones over Kansas State and Iowa. Not "ha ha" funny but funny that a writer for an FBS school feels the need to bias their argument about NDSU beating their team.

Lol Florida State sucks. They think because they beat Savannah State every year by 80 that means they’d beat NDSU. They were down in the 4th quarter to a HORRIBLE Samford squad. Classic FBS arrogance at its finest.

When did they legalize hallucinogenics in Florida? Yes Florida State gets better athletes than NDSU. They just aren't a good football TEAM. If they are so much better, schedule NDSU. I think the most interesting part of that game would be the eye candy in the stands in Tallahassee ;).
