Well this is my 5th trip, always love enjoying seeing different country and what's along the way. What are some of your favorite stops along the way?
We try to make it a point to stop at the welcome to Texas sign. Once stopped at a cotton field in Kansas. Stay in the Ft. Worth old stockyards area...all the bars...Hit downtown JFK memorial and Hard Rock cafe. Wouldn't mind hitting Cowboy stadium or that huge casino in OK on interstate.
Other ideas??

If you have kids there are 2 zoos in DFW. The World Aquarium and the Perot Museum. We have thought about swinging through OKC to the memorial there.

OKC memorial is definitely worth it IMO.

^this. We enjoyed the tour a lot.

Also, even if a person doesn't have an amazing time doing some of these other things along the way or while down there, at least you can say you did it. This is just me, but when we travel we like to go on tours or see unique things specific to an area we're in. This also includes our food stops. Dad loves his Denny's, but I refuse to go to a Denny's unless it's literally the only and last option.

Great Zoo in Omaha. The SAC museum west of Omaha is good. If you are interested in train locomotives, the is a Big Boy on display in a park on the bluff where I80 crosses into Omaha.

I hear that Toyota Stadium in Frisco is a decent place to be this Saturday.

If you're from South Dakota or SDSU, you probably wouldn't understand.

Yo, Snuff, I've lived in SD since 2010 (lived near Washburn, ND, for 32 yrs); 7th trip to Frisco; so yes, some of us SoDaks understand.

Was more gearing towards SDSU people. Its not your fault you live in South Dakota however.

IMHO, living in the area, if you are going to go to a zoo, go to the Fort Worth Zoo.

IF you go to the JFK site downtown, take the trolley tour that follows the footsteps of Lee Harvey Oswald after the assassination. It goes out of downtown to the movie theater where he went to, the boarding house he lived in prior to the shooting and where he shoot a police officer.

The tour then goes back to dt dallas to the courthouse, jail and takes you on part of the JFK motorcade route.

Need advice on possibly buying tickets to the Cowboys playoff game Saturday night. What's the best platform to buy resale tickets on? Are tickets scanned of your phone for entry? Better to buy now or wait till last minute. Current seats are around $140 for upper level nosebleed which is what I'd be targeting. Thanks for any advice. Never bought NFL tickets before.

The National Video Game Museum is only about a mile south of Toyota Stadium. If you like video games and grew up playing them it is a must see. Take your kids and have a great time.

Never bought NFL tickets before.Another option if you're able is the Ticketmaster NFL ticket exchange. Buy the GA tickets, get there early and camp out along a rail to watch the game. The tickets are cheaper and you're not up in the nose bleed. If you decide to sit at some point, there are a few cool bars and other places within the stadium. If you're physically unable to stand the whole game this wouldn't be for you though

If you end up in the nosebleeds the massive video board isn’t bad to watch the game on. I’ve done vivid seats and stub hub. Both work fine. You can also buy a parking pass ahead of time.

Would have two kids in tow. Seahawks are the ones Madden Team. Would be their first NFL game. Deciding how much $ that is worth.

Sounds like it would be worth it all things considered that you mention. Stands to be a great game with a lot of noise and excitement, and the stadium and massive scoreboard are sites to see all by themselves. The ticket buying options already mentioned are good. Like they say, you only go around once, and those kiddos will certainly have something to share coming back to school and memories long term! Since they have not been to an NFL game yet, the roaring sound of that huge crowd will be a big deal all by itself. https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/20-fun-facts-about-arlington-and-cowboys-stadium-1.2659439

If you don't mind going too far out of your way, the World War I Museum in Kansas City and the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library in nearby Independence Missouri are ready good - I was there for a teachers conference and I would recommend them. The Federal Reserve in Kansas City is also an interesting tour as well.

I visited the library a number of years ago with some friends long after Truman died. His voice was explaining an exhibit and when it was over my smart ass friend said: "Thank you, Harry." Truman replied "Your welcome."

The WW1 museum is terrific. You'll want to set aside at least a half day or more for it. You'll be near Union station which also has some great exhibits.

Small correction, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is not a part of the US Mint, though they are both part of the Department of the Treasury.

I have done the tour at the Bureau in Washington DC - it was the worst tour that I have even been on - EVER! I hope that the one in Ft. Worth would be better. (On a side note, the US Mint tour in Philly was awesome, and especially good for little children as well).

Most of those are flyable. I see them at the Addison Airport turning and burning. These two guys were in front of me at the run-up area this summer; great to watch.

The Gray one is a P63 Kingcobra, and the green one is a P39 Airacobra. There is only a handful, literally, of these still flyable.

I was mowing between some test plots for Plant Pathology back in the day and headed south when one of those F4 jocks lifted off the runway and leveled out low over 19th, all unbeknownst to me. As he overtook me he yanked the stick back and lit the burners. That was how I discovered he was there. Damn near flew off that tractor. Bet he was LHFAO.

They took off in formation, did a few laps around the pattern, then did a flyby of a festival going on at the Addison park and came back in. Listening to those V-12's run-up and take off was awesome...Much more impressive than a 4-cylinder Lycoming.

Those things are so weird. The engine sits behind the pilot and the drive shaft goes underneath the pilot. They also have a heavy cannon mounted in the nose of the propeller as well as 2 heavy machine guns just above that are synced to fire through the propeller and 2 more guns in the wings. Just an odd aircraft used as a stopgap until the Mustang, Thunderbolt and Lightning production got up to speed. We kicked most of them to the Soviet Union where they worked pretty good at middle and low altitudes.
