I get ranking Elon over JMU but I honestly don’t think any team ranked above them except NDSU will beat them come playoff time. Ranked 5th in the AGS poll. Usually find that to be the most accurate (NDSU bias notwithstanding). We win out and I still feel we'll get a seed.

Sad, this from a team that JMU has proven themselves inferior to in head to head comp against NDSU..

They need to concentrate on moving up the polls based on there own merit & hope they are in the opposite brackets that NDSU is in.
That way they can garner some wins in the playoffs before & if they meet the Bison.

It appears that they have not gained the respect for NDSU that NDSU earned.

It is nice to see GSU rebound after 2 very poor seasons. I hope it will continue to progress under the new Head Coach and his staff and we can build on it for next year.

I have not looked at SC A&T's schedule, I don't know who they have beaten to be ranked so high. I hope A&T will make it to the playoffs to rep there conference, but I doubt you'll see them last very long in the playoffs & doubt you'll see them in Fargo for a playoff game.

I also hope that you get JMU on your side of the bracket. Don't really want to watch NDSU vs. JMU in the FCS NC.

Would like to see more blitz packages as to shake things up a bit and take advantage of great team speed. Also, my one complaint on Klieman, from day one, too vanilla on special teams. PLEASE!!! fake a punt, onside kick, try tearing a teams heart out in the first half to include something on special teams... Or, go four down playbook from the 50 yard line with the goal of never giving up the ball. WHO is going to stop NDSU on four plays from getting ten yards right now??? Play like the champions you are.

I haven't looked up your D stats and probably wont until the start of the Playoffs, but based on the scores I looked at NDSUs defense appears to be doing very well.

As I looked back at NDSUs history, before FCS, you've always been winners.
All those winning coaches you had before FCS probably instilled the same type of order, installed self-discipline & humility in their players.
I also have to wonder about the players you recruit. Is it their mid-western values that they bring to NDSU?


I know the U of Miami had winning teams in the 80s without installing great attributes in their players, but NDSU is doing it right.
I hope the NDSU players keep those positive values after leaving NDSU.

It did improve significantly over time and has been great under Coach K. Even though there were some issues here and there, I don't get the sense that NDSU ever had a terrible program. When GSUs Head Coach Monken was offered a Job at Army he took it and left GSU. He was an assistant coach for Paul Johnson at both Navy and GT.
One of the things Monken stated was "The time he spent handing discipline problems at Army made his job a lot easer."

All of you can remember when you were back at NDSU. 18-22 year olds are still kids and need to be checked on by parents and coaches. They are still developing there social and moral compass. It is a tough job developing that when a student leaves home and has the freedom to decide many things for themselves. More power to your coaches and parents!

IIRC, it was in '09 when the Best Buy scandal happened :facepalm:. That was a rough year...

I agree. The coaches may say all the right things, but sometimes it doesn't hit the players until they lose a game. It happens in all sports at all levels. We lost to Indiana State and South Dakota at home in back to back years IIRC.

3. SDSU- Dont see anyone else as good or balanced
4. Kennesaw- Actually think they're a good team
5. Wofford- Good defense. Shouldve beat Wyoming
6. EWU- Its hard to put them higher without much defense
7. Elon- Good team
8. Illinois St- Underrated, let down loss to Missouri St

If they had just won the game against the Bears we may have been looking at a 1 vs. 2 matchup this weekend.

Bison linebackers are fast and play really well in space. I look for the Red birds to run at our linebackers, taking advantage of their lack of size and weight over four quarters. If the Bison offense can score a couple early I see this as a going away win. If the Bison start slow and the Red birds can run, run, run, this game could be very close. QUICK start easy win, SLOW start, long close game....

Bison are 6-0 and fans bitch about close games and bitched about first three games being blowouts. Has NDSU played a perfect game on both sides of the ball yet in a game? NO!. Have we stayed vanilla on offense yet? YES!!! Just last game we pulled out the wildcat for a play to give teams something to think about. We are still not deep into the playbook on offense. We still are one of 4-5 teams that have a shot at winning it all. We will continue to get every teams best shot every game. It is their chance to make a statement in the FCS world just like ELON did over JMU. Following week ELON lays an egg. We need to stay steady and true and march on during each game. Never looking ahead and finish each play. Go Bison.

I don’t forget that back in 2010-2012 EVERY game was questionable and a win was a win, with post-game celebratory drinks in tailgate lot after a win. We take things a bit for granted now. I’m much more calm watching these days tho.

As of Nov. 1st I will get my total retirement. I have several things on my bucket list. The National Air Races in Reno, a trip to Ireland, Scotland & England and an NDSU game in the Fargo Dome. I've been to England & France, but I'd like to go back to England. See you in 2 years.
