Really, really difficult to tell how good the Blue Hens are based on who and how they played this year. Their three previous opponents are a combined 2-5 (1-3 not counting the games versus Delaware) and struggled running the ball against all three (best game had an average 3.9 yards/attempt). Their passing game though, has been pretty decent with their QB yet to throw a pick. I watched their game against Lafayette, and from what I saw, I expect nothing too flashy (we'll get that a week later).

Their defense looks big and physical and I expect this to be a game where NDSU relies on the Rams to wear them down like we usually see in a tough MVFC match-up.

I expect a close game for three quarters with the Bison pulling away in the fourth quarter and winning 27-10. And yes, this thread will have a lot of bitching.

Delaware Game Take: The score is easy 70-0 if NDSU wants to put a beat down on an East Coast Team. those two teams werent even in the same classification. Approximate 1st half stats in total yards of offense; NDSU 365 Delaware 58. Whhaaatttt. Delawares coach "it was a combination of us making some mistakes early and them taking advantage of those mistakes". NO, It was a clear case of a mismatch.

First, re: EWU... I would be very surprised if they get past the QF, so CM is pretty close there... but man, one side of the bracket would have to be STACKED in order to for EWU to get to the championship. I'm not convinced they are clearly the best team in the Big Sky, let alone one side of a playoff bracket.

Second, re: JMU... Last year, they were easily the second best team in the country. After some pretty key roster losses this year, they've answered some questions already (especially against NC St), and I don't see a loss on their schedule in the (softer than MVFC) CAA... Even so, you have to respect what they have done, potentially going undefeated in conference play for 3 seasons in a row. That's impressive in any conference. If respecting my opponent means I have to join a circle-jerk, pass the lotion, I guess?

Anyway, put those 2 things together, and EWU will likely have to face JMU or NDSU in the semi's, if they even make it that far... I just don't see anyone beating either of those teams in the playoffs and I'll believe it when I see it.

I guess looking back the ref says "illegal block below the waist" Same question though. Don't get the call at all. 15 Yard penalties like that kill drives. So they better be legit. Maybe I'm missing something though?

After 4 games we've only had 1 illegal block below the waist, and I've noticed teams cutting less this year. The rule changes are having an effect. I have no idea if that is true nationally.

After 4 games we've only had 1 illegal block below the waist, and I've noticed teams cutting less this year. The rule changes are having an effect. I have no idea if that is true nationally.

You saw 99.9% of what happened and that all looked like an illegal block. There’s a lot going on out there and can’t see everything.

Are they? Because you can figure out what it is pretty easily. If they dont fit your location,then spend the extra. Yes obviously if theres a vikings game in town, there wont be express deals downtown and youll be out by the airport.

I tried Priceline this summer. They do not disclose parking or internet fees. I will NEVER use them again. This might be obvious, but Hotels.com FTW

Absolutely. It's the primary reason you may see something that looks like an obvious foul but there was no flag. None of officials saw enough of the play to flag it. Especially with the help of video you realize quickly if you make an assumption based on seeing part of a play you are going to be wrong a lot more than you are right. So if you aren't sure it's best to live with a no call. 99.9% is probably a little high of a threshold, but you have the right idea. You are likely to see the block forming though because each official is responsible for covering 1 or 2 players on the offense so you split up responsibilities to likely see the blocker approaching, especially in space. When you break it down like that and you have built up a lot of experience it's not as hard as you realize. I like to tell people officiating is harder than you realize, but once you gain experience it's usually not that hard. By the time an official reaches the MVFC (which is VERY competitive and hard) you have a lot of experience (likely 10-15 years or more).

I think I’m accurate when I told him that the bakken patch had very little to do with our rise to prominence. I gave him a 4-5 minute explanation and found it was nearly impossible to cover the subject in a way that a non Nodaker might actually comprehend it in that amount of time. At that moment I was again reminded how ass backwards the politics in our state are.
