That's awesome. The level of competition is going to be really really good. So many uber talented guys who are good enough to play in the NFL

Agree. Interesting looking at the list of the first 100 players to sign.

THat's awesome for those guys. They will do well.

I want to see San Antonio play right now. All they have signed is a K, P, and DT. That's going to make for some interesting offensive and defensive play calling ;)

3 year contracts. 250k salary or roughly 83k a year. Benefits and bonuses. The CFL rookie minimum is 50k but the average is 80k when you factor in big names and QBs. The arena league is between 30 and 50k with some franchise guys making up to 100k

Manziel got a good deal for sucking. He was Taryn Christian bad with 4 picks in the first half and got benched in a 50-11 loss

Manziel's CFL contract: $122k base, $10k sign bonus, $18k housing stipend, $10k if active 6 games, $10k for 10 games active. $10k for 14 games active. Another $120k if plays half of snaps. March 1 $75k offseason bonus. 2018 $202k base w/same incentives

I was hoping they would sign Crockett here in Orlando...getting my season tickets...cheaper than a UCF game.

That Phoenix roster has Kamari Cotton-Moya whom I remember getting booted for targeting in the Iowa State game.

What's the point in having like a 27 year old running back? I thought the point of this league was to get guys on tape basically to audition for the NFL?

Crockett is 26 with fresh legs. If he has a big year hes NFL prime age.

No it's not a developmental league for the NFL but they will certainly find some players. These guys get paid 3 year 250k contracts. It's not like they are playing for free. 83 grand plus benefits ain't a bad deal to play football. Not NFL money but similar to NFL practice squad.

I clicked on this thread because I thought it was going to be about the Bison moving up, skipping FBS....

C.J. Smith just had a nice INT and return for the Salt Lake Stallions.

Glad I’m not the only one that saw that. Good play! CJ had a couple dropped INT’s this season, so nice to see him capitalize. They haven’t really been targeting him much this game either.

Too bad the AFA is done. Already asking for funding from NFL. Hope CJ gets noticed before AFA is jettisoned.

Asking for players not money. At least for now.

We’ll see. There has been conflicting reports and it has shown promise. In particular, San Antonio has shown phenomenal attendance for a startup, developmental league. I think streaming on bleacher report and relying on “word of mouth” advertising have been a bit mind boggling though. I actually like the league, so i hope the reports are a bit exaggerated. Relatively little outside drama and decent reffing overall. I also love that they let you hear the ref conversations when reviewing plays.

Reports are no longer conflicting. (http://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/26423928/aaf-immediately-suspend-operations) Can't say I'm surprised. I all but forgot the league existed after the first weekend was played on CBS. Didn't even hear about games being shown on the BR app until last week when it was mentioned during a NCAA Tourney broadcast.
