Welcome!
I had previously put this in the regular recruiting thread, but will add it in over here. Very impressive pre-season ranking for Jacob Lippe -
#2 ranked WR in Wisconsin

Travis Wilson (WSN) has pre-season lists of Wisconsin high school football players - ranked by position.

Jacob Lippe - 6’ 3” - Port Washington WI - Ranked #2 among WR’s

Jacob Lippe has offers from NDSU, Northern Iowa, Western Illinois, Illinois State.
Also has preferred walk-on offers from Wisconsin, Iowa.

That's not to say that I'm disappointed to see Lippe commit, there's definitely a spot for a WR of his size on the team but the more early commits the better!

Btw, 247sports doesn't show it but based on twitter Lippe had offers from Illinois St, UNI, and WIU to go along with a PWO offer from Wisconsin.

He has the hands of Vraa but looks to be a bit faster. Also has a little bit of shake when carrying the ball. Very impressive indeed.

Offered by Weber State

Weber does well putting players in the NFL, but nowhere near (less than half) what NDSU does.

What does this have to do with Lippe?

Lippe isn't going to the NFL regardless of where he ends up.

Good point. I was trying to make sense of it and simply disregarded the 'instant payday' aspect.
Myself? I'd stick around for the all but certain Championship next season.

He has his rings and now he probably wants to be on the field more. I hope he finds the right spot for him.

Looking like he would have been buried on the depth chart next year. Lot of young talent at WR that needs start seeing the field. Can't blame him for wanting to still play and compete for meaningful snaps.

I hope some people see the "positives" of the Transfer Portal. Jacob is a wonderful kid. Graduate. Leader. Has accomplished a ton at NDSU. Seeing what else is out there is a terrific opportunity for him. Playing time. Seeing a different part of hte country, etc. Lot of cool opportunities. It isn't always a negative. Best of luck to this young man!

I've seen the Mules play football and basketball a few times over the years. Decent sized school, but not a lot of football success. Tough task being in the same conference as Pitt State and Northwest Missouri.

Best of luck to Lippe.
