Illinois State drops leading tackler from team.

Illinois State football coach Brock Spack confirmed Saturday he has removed his 2017 leading tackler from the team.

Spack has dismissed senior linebacker Tyree Horton, who topped the Redbirds with 75 tackles last season. Horton also had 10½ tackles for loss, 3½ sacks and two forced fumbles.

The ISU coach said the dismissal was spurred by an accumulation of events and not one major transgression.

Spack does have a backbone. Good for him.

I wouldn't give him too much credit. Multiple transactions that caused the dismissal... Sounds more like he was handed his backbone aka the kid walked himself out the door.

and if that happened at NDSU it would be he has left the program, end of comment by Coach Klieman.

So you can sell drugs to a cop, and stay on the team.....so I wonder what this kid had to do to get kicked off?

Saw where the Coyotes are 7.5 point favorites over surprising Missouri State this weekend and that their Dakota Days will be a sellout.
MSU beat #20 ranked Northern Arizona 40-8 and gave #9 Illinois State it’s 1st loss 24-21, one week after the Redbirds gave FBS Colorado State a decisive loss.

ISU had FBS hangover, and 2 raod games in a row, the CO game at elevation and time change was difficult for them
NAU has like 20 guys out with injuries...exaggeration but its kind of true

USD wins this one, MSU is better but not great

FYI, Colorado State is a terrible team this year - worst than most years. Their only win is against another team struggling this year - Arkansas. CSU is a G5 team, and far as I'm concern, G5 teams are not a much better than many FCS teams.

Definitely, but that Misery State win over ISUr is still pretty impressive, and definitely makes me think more of them as a contender in the Valley...

"Contender in the Valley" meaning, potential top 4-5 team in the MVFC and potential playoff team. I'm not saying they will, I'm just saying they could...?

Gained respect? Yes.
Contender for the title? No.

That's a bit of a surprise? I'd think some FBS school would take a flyer on him as a DC for more money than Youngstown can offer him I'd have thought. Also noticed Carl is back on staff again so will we get more Pelini brother's meltdown pics/gifs?

(In Dr. Evil Voice) "Pretty standard, really."

Makes sense for both parties. Youngstown has their coach under contract, Pelini's resume looks better since he's in demand.
