We got the OBX!

Went there this summer and my nieces got smacked talk by folks when they found out they were from Fargo... nieces all went to Concordia though.

BTW, if Ohio State wants North Dakota, they should come and take it from the team that owns it.

That map is worthless when you consider how much population density varies from county to county.

That map is worthless when you consider how much population density varies from county to county. You need to go back to week 1 and follow it through the season. Univ of Minnesota has probably the most land thanks to north and south dakota

Resurrecting this thread since someone is doing an FCS imperialism map this year. Think it's an NDSU fan, but don't know if it's a BV poster.

PLEASE READ FIRST:
Just to go over the rules, counties are initially assigned solely on the basis of geography. It's derived from the distance of the midpoint of the county to the location of the school. Alaska is initially weird due to no FCS schools in the state and the curvature of the Earth. Each week, the winners claim any territory owned by the losers. FBS games don't count but DII games do. By the end of the season, the national champion should own the entire US but likely won't because of some DII wins and no way to get the territory back.

The first three maps for 2019 will follow.

Initial map of 2019. Again, remember that it's solely based on geography, not popularity, so no whining about the size of UND's share or that NDSU should have a bigger share of Minnesota or whatever.

From here on it's mostly just conference play. But we can get the rest of Hawaii later in the season if UNI beats Weber this weekend and we beat UNI later in the season(assuming UNI doesn't lose in between). The only other non-conference game until the playoffs is YSU vs Robert Morris(also this weekend).

We do have the most counties conquered: 254. Rounding out the top-five is Central Arkansas at 245, Illinois State at 233, Montana at 217, and Sac St at 174.

We're third place in population chart at 18.6M, behind Weber at 28.8M and Indiana St at 21.0M. Fourth and fifth are Cornell at 18.2M and Illinois St at 17.9M

We're fourth in area at 263k sqmi, behind Portland St at 657k, Sac St at 316k, and Illinois St at 298k. Fifth place is Central Arkansas at 260k sqmi.

Looks like UNI is the only MVFC team with any territory left and the Bison have already played them. It doesn't look like there's any way another team can beat UNI and then lose to the Bison still in the regular season so no more conquests until the playoffs.

JMU is 11-0 in the FCS, but a bunch of the teams they beat either lost their previous game(and so lost their territory) or hadn't captured much from others. You can't capture territory that your opponents don't have.

Yea! We squeak by with one county in Tennessee.

I like how NDSU holds everything west of the Mississippi River except for two enclaves of West Florida (D2 champion) and NC A&T. And that the Bison is kinda looking at the rest of the county (competition) and snorting. Like "Bring it on!"

Interestingly, if this post (https://old.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/eol07a/final_2019_college_football_empires_map/fek53oz/) is correct, NDSU would have land on the 2005, 2006, 2015, 2016 "maps" with all others consolidated with the FBS champion going back to 2004 at least.
