At this point the bracket is mostly a projection, 10-1 NDSU probably is 2 or 3 but the committee seems to have a thing for JSU so I went with 3.

I trust you, as I clearly haven't looked, but that is almost hard to imagine. Which means they are going to be 2 and 3. haha. Just a mess. I hope we get snubbed. Screw the doubters and play pissed off.

The six teams SHSU played or will play to close their regular season have a combined record of 13-42.

The bottom of the SLC may be the worst in any FCS conference not named the Pioneer.

SUU should win out and will likely get a seed, replacing Elon. Committee likes to spread the wealth. Lehigh has inside track at Patriot autobid

SUU should win out and will likely get a seed

That kind of depends on what happens with Elon.

If their losses are Toledo and undefeated JMU I can see them getting a seed over SUU. That said I wouldn't be shocked to see UNH beat them.

They've already shocked a few teams and could do it to JMU

Realistically, If we win out I have a strong belief NDSU will be at least a 3 seed. Hopefully stay on the 2-3 side to avoid JMU until Frisco if we are fortunate enough to advance

If we win out and finish the regular season as MVFC outright champs, anything less than a 2 seed would be travesty. A one loss MVFC team is a top 2 seed.

When you win out if the Bison aren't the 2 seed that'll be the freaking crime. Especially if we win out. I see the Bison at 2, I'd put us at 6 although an argument could be made for a 5(which I'd love). A 5 seed ensures we wouldn't see each other until Frisco.

I think if SDSU wins out they should be #5 but I have my doubts with the committee. After this weekend SHSU will likely have beaten just one team that has a record over .500.

Doesn't Hero's bracket have the Montana St. logo instead of the Grizz logo? That would piss some people off around here if the ND schools were switched. :offtopic:

Lets get some discussion going. Based off some projections, theres going to be some worthy teams left out of the bracket. If Monmouth beats Kennesaw and wins the Big South, does the committee put in Kennesaw? Theyd probably have a 9-2 record, but 1 non DI win. The Big Sky may have a few 7-4 teams. Austin Peay, could be 7-4, but 3 losses would be to FBS. What do you do with a 9-2 Nicholls but they avoided UCA? Or McNeese who will likely be 9-2, but avoided SHSU? Both are probably in. Weber St and SUU could finish 9-2. Do they get seeded over 8-3 USD, SDSU, Elon? If Elon finishes 1-1 I think they're seeded, but could very well go 0-2 playing @ UNH and vs JMU.

I feel like Montana is going to be a very undeserving playoff team but at 8-3 not sure how the committee sees past those $$$$ that a Griz home game will rake in on Thanksgiving weekend.

My issue with all SLC teams is that half of their conference schedule is pretty much a burning landfill of horrible teams. All of their records are inflated.

Three Big Sky teams is right on Dom. I finally agree with Dom on his bracket projection after years of him always having way too many Big Sky teams included. Just because the Big Sky has a couple of dozen teams doesn't mean their playoff participants should be based on numbers only, conference performance and quality of teams must also be considered!

So.... You're saying there's a chance?????

Yes, I suppose it is theoretically possible. But very, very unlikely if you ask me. I think Elon is a respectable team this year, but I don't think they'd have a prayer to finish at .500 playing in the Valley. JMU would be a top team in the Valley this year.

Elon has won every game close, beating some real dogs close, but also beating some ranked teams by a point or two. JMU should be minimum two touchdowns better, but the game is at Elon.

Here is a link to the game for anyone interested.... portal.stretchinternet.com/elon/portal.htm?eventId=373963&streamType=video

Hope the Bison can show more emotion moving forward, definitely have the talent and fan base, Its ok to be excited after big plays and big wins.

Mr Meaty

I don't think JMU has much to worry about in NDSU if the Bison don't find a bit of FIRE in the blood. This team has been flat for two years, playing with such little emotion, Neither the HC or QB on this team have any ability to motivate openly, something sadly missing on a weekly basis. It filters into the crowd, tv sets at home, bars. This program is missing SWAG! like it had in years past. I think both the QB and HC are quality people but they simply are missing a very important ingredient for the positions they are in. Hope Im wrong come playoff time but I felt the same coming into last years playoffs and nothing changed. How can winning look so boring???

NDSU has never worried about looking "boring", winning is the expectation. Emotional coaches and players can be good and bad. I have seen this year after a big play we have to take a timeout because the coaches and players are celebrating and not getting the next play called and lined up for it. I guess I would rather save the timeout instead of burning one when not needed. An extra time out right before halftime would come in handy some weeks. But if you like the clock running out on the one yard line, then we have that covered. There needs to be focus on the part of the coaches and players. Understand if the current play does or does not work, what do we do next. Need to think a play ahead.
No really in our games but you will see a team go for it on 3 and 6. they throw a 15 yard pass and it is incomplete. But then the turn around on 4-6 and run a similar play. Why not try and get 3-4 yards on 3rd down and only need 2 on 4th. You decided you were going for it already on third down.

Im not saying I want coaches and players that seek personal glorification after every play, ala Miami Hurricanes, but I do feel emotion is important. I hate to keep going back to Bohl, but he did have the right amount. There is a difference in playing with some emotion and fire vs. being idiots (Miami Canes). Again, This Bison team is a tough beat but would like to see some more passion.
