Anybody care?

Just asking. It's 3 days to game day and nobody seems overly excited about this. I know it's going to be a glorified scrimmage but we should see something on Saturday.

It's my birthday and all I want is for my family to go away and leave me alone to watch the game. Is that wrong?

Have note looked up a 5 dimes line, but Sagarin has us as a 72 point favorite. No, not making that up. This is going to be like when NDSU played the Dragons in the 90's.

I'm putting it somewhere between PVAM and Incarnate Word. Starters won't see the 2nd half.

It's an excuse to tailgate (in what looks to be fantastic weather) and a great opportunity to get a lot of young players lower on the depth chart some game reps. That's about the only positives about this game.

It will be a fun change seeing the new talent from the bison getting some action before the EWU game.

We have 3 very talented line backers,a couple DTs, a incredible FS that graduate this year (among others).

Sure don't mind seeing what the next group brings to the team ... am looking foreward to three of the first 4 games for that opportunity.

I will be in cheney to watch our 1st team pluck the feathers out of those birds.

Massey Ratings attempts to rank all college football teams in the country, regardless of division, and predict games based on it. They predict we win 54-0.

MVSU is the 559th ranked team according to them; there are 146 D2 teams, 38 D3 teams, 32 JUCO teams, and 23 NAIA teams ranked higher than them. Granted Massey also has NW Missouri State as the 45th best team in the country, NDSU is at 55.

Can't find a depth chart, but they have 11 OL on the roster: 8 weight 275+, but there is a junior and a sophomore at 240. They only have 8 DL listed, 2 of them weight 215 or less and neither is a freshman.

This is going to be very, very bad. The "feel sorry for them and hope they don't get hurt, and it might get hard to watch" kinda bad.

Hopefully nobody gets hurt. We seem to lose starters to injuries in preseason games like this, a la Tyler Roehl vs Central Connecticut. I don't know if the talent gap opens up the possibility to more injuries, but it sure is frustrating when it happens.

MVSU ran for 25 yards per game last year. Averaged less than one yard per carry. Against the SWAC.

Get the starters in for a quarter and a half, then get the young guys some game reps. This will be the 2000 Moorhead State game, except with negative rushing yards allowed.

After scouring MVSU's participation states from last year and their current roster, I have a semblance of a starting roster for them on Saturday.

4 players return on offense. 3 on the OL, and 1 WR.

5 players return on defense. 2 CBs, 1 Safety, 1 LB, and 1 DT.

The starting QB is either a 3-star true freshman from Memphis or a JUCO transfer from California.

Well, they usually pay for their own travel for these guarantee games and these guys have the lowest athletic budget (by a pretty significant margin) in D1 so I wouldn't doubt it.

A few years back when Grambling's team threatened to not play (http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/9845085/grambling-state-tigers-game-jackson-state-tigers-canceled-players-refuse-board-buses) they were upset with travel policy such as having to bus 15 hours overnight for a 750 mile trip from Grambling, Louisiana to Indianapolis. In the SWAC it seems anything that saves money is strongly considered.

EDIT: Well, Gumby's link does seem to back up that they're chartering but my point still stands about them saving money wherever possible.
