I read that Nebraska is looking for games next year and beyond. I heard they contacted Nicholls State and are looking for another? They pay 450-500 grand.

I've heard that they've offered us a game but that we wanted to wait a couple of years until our program is more mature at the DI level.

umm, could probably have given them a run for their money if the game was played this year.

Isn't there some bad blood between Bohl and how he was the scapegoat for Nebraska getting whooped by Colorado and then Miami in the rose bowl. I not so sure he would want to play down there, and who would blame him.

maybe Bohl just wants to wait untill he thinks he can beat them ;D

Don't do it! Don't take their money. Do not help them for any reason. Let them build wins by scheduling D1 teams like they should. If I were, and I'm not, let me get that out up front, a fan of that program I would be embarrassed that the athletic department was out asking for D1AA team to fill out the nonconference schedule. God, I hate 'em and even a little embarrassed for them that they have stooped that low -pussies!

Oh, and I'm not saying NDSU or D1AA teams are bad.
I just don't want to see any of them placating to that programs scheduling and winning woes. Let'em suffer a slow death and see if they can make it back on their sweet and hard work.

It's not as though major programs playing DIAA or lower level DI teams is new. Nebraska is struggling but they will be back, they had a monster recruiting class last year.

Nebraska's payout this year to I-AA Maine was $350k. Not exactly $500k, but good money nonetheless.

With the abolishment of the 1 in 4 rule, and I-AA trying to homogenize DI, there will be more DI-A/DI-AA games IMO.

I believe Taylor stated earlier that he wanted to balance the I-A opponents- such as having a MAC type team one year, and then a Big-10 type the next.

I say go for it......but not for a couple of years, though.

I wouldn't pass up a chance to play Nebraska. Another top program that is near our vicinity.

We have the Gophers in 2007 so how about Nebraska in 2009?

I think it would be great to play in front of that sea of red. We recruit in Nebraska as well so it only makes sense. Nebraska looked like a very good team blowing out Colorado yesterday. Coach Bohl has done the wise thing and hasn't burned any bridges since he was scapegoated on his way out of Nebraska.

Playing Nebraska brings in $ for the athletic program, provides added exposure, and can be an enticement to get recruits to choose NDSU. If it benefits the Bison, go for it.
