Suprising, but should be a good move for UNC.

I just hope they hire a coach from a program other than NDSU. Casey Bradley is probably a pretty hot candidate with his work at NDSU. There are alot of new openings in division I-AA football and Northern Colorado is probably one of the more appealing openings because they have previously been successful in football and they are in the Big Sky Conference.

Never thought of that...Casey Bradley is too valuable to lose...

Gus has to be in his dream job, well, almost.....

Getting paid fairly well at NDSU, cutting his teeth at the DI level, being groomed to be the next head coach at NDSU once Bohl leaves.

I can't imagine someone with that much green and gold in their blood going to UNC.

He was a head coach at a division II school in Colorado before. They know he has been on the staff of Coach Bohl who has quickly built NDSU into a division I-AA power. Maybe they will go for Dan Enos or our former defensive coordinator who is now at Ohio.

I would think both of them currently make more than what UNC is paying.

Here is more of a story on it from ESPN.

Here is a comment from it.

"We're looking for a coach with experience and a high-energy person," he said.

Found this on UNC's message board. He was running the school down in interviews and saying things that indicated the move to division I wasn't a good one. They had to axe him.
