Looks like there is some pretty stiff competition for Bradley and kid who can go wherever he wants. With the Gus connection fun to see but don't expect anything to come from it.

I wonder how that works in the recruiting world? If he wasn't Gus' son I assume we probably wouldn't have offered him. Is it more of a common courtesy type thing? Shout out and show of respect to one of your former players?

I'm guessing there are plenty of former player kids that NDSU doesn't offer. I also doubt the staff would offer someone that they felt they had zero chance at landing.

If there's a connection and any chance as slim as it may be you offer. Who knows maybe the kid would like to follow dad's path.

If former players kids can play then you offer them. It would be real nice to have quality "legacy" type players. Those kids should know what it means to be a bison from an early age.

Who is this kid from Ellendale? Voldemort?

I'll risk writing his name: Clayton Grueneich. Rushed for about 600 yards in his last two games of 2016 (Class A semifinal and championship game.)

Kid looks like a good athlete with good size. Interesting he also plays DE at 6-0, 200. Not sure if he looks like he's a feature back though... Looks to me like either a linebacker or maybe a Chase Morlock type or back. Of course we haven't even seen his senior season yet so who knows maybe he will look more like a tailback next year

Another familiar QB name on the Scout recruiting list is Alec Ogden.
Younger brother to 5' 11" Autumn Ogden of the ladies' basketball team.

Alec is a 2018 interest, 6' 3" 180, Monona Grove HS, Wisconsin
2017 stats - 14 games, 205 attempts, 305 completions, 67.2%, 3074 yards, 10.1 ypc, 35 td, 219.6 Yards/game rating, 3 int, 134.2 QB rating

http://www.wissports.net/roster_players/11760849?subseason=295841

Amazing TD/int ratio!
Led Monona Grove to an 11-3 record, losing in the WIAA Division 2 title game 42-36 to Brookfield East

Watching him play in the championship game last year reminded me of some of our previous FB's. Get him into a college weight program and I could see a Jangula type FB.

That's a throwing motion from the kid of an NFL head coach that's for sure. Tight to the body with a compact, quick release. Definitely doesn't have the arm strength that will wow you just yet but plenty of time to grow and get stronger and develop that. Kid has serious talent.

Dietzen is a teammate to 2017 recruit Logan McCormick - DE.
With Dietzen being an "elite" prospect, however, this looks like a long shot..... :)

Who is this kid from Ellendale? Voldemort?

I'll risk writing his name: Clayton Grueneich. Rushed for about 600 yards in his last two games of 2016 (Class A semifinal and championship game.)

Grueneich shines again in Fargodome:

Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm junior Clayton Grueneich continued his dome dominance. Grueneich earned a 13-3 major decision against Velva senior Justin Helseth to earn the state championship at 195 pounds.

"It feels pretty good ... no feeling like it in the world," Grueneich said. "Introductions even (were) awesome. It was fun."

In November, Grueneich led E-E-K to a Class 1A state football championship with a dominating performance. He rushed for 343 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 victory against Des Lacs-Burlington in the title game.

"They're both awesome in their own ways," Grueneich said. "Winning it by myself is awesome, but then winning it with my teammates is awesome, too."

Grueneich (37-0) capped off an undefeated wrestling season with his victory in the state championship match.

"I had goals, but probably not this high," Grueneich said.

I guess I'd expect him to do his job? With the prestigious Big10 label we are at a significant disadvantage. Probably always will be. We will always attract the chip on the shoulder, lunch pale kid attracted to a program that does more with less by being part of a real team. No 4 star recruits just 10 star student athletes.

http://www.hudl.com/video/3/4029790/...3cb02fb4abe7f1

Heck of an athlete. Video makes him look like a man among boys.

Should be one other man among boys on the vid for Marshall. Blaise Andries - 6' 5" 299 - OT
Was the top-rated recruit in Minnesota last fall. Committed early to the Gophers, and stuck with them through the scandal and subsequent coaching change.
SDSU also signed a DE/LB from that Marshall team, 6' 4" 215 Reece Winkleman.
Both the Gophers and Badgers already have a QB commit for 2018, perhaps that will help NDSU's chances.

P.J. Fleck and the Minnesota Golden Gophers staff saw all they needed from Perham (Minn.) DT Logan Richter today at Junior Day. Extending an offer and quickly picking up a verbal from the 6-foot-4, 291-pound prep.

Richter had no other offers to-date, but strong interest building from schools such as North Dakota, NDSU and Wyoming to-date. He had planned visits to UND and NDSU over the next month previous to his verbal.

Didn't have a rating previous to the Gophers, this offer & acceptance got Richter bumped up to 3 stars by 247.

Another free list is here, not always updated immediately, but something I enjoy looking at as I like quick looks at Gopher recruiting and D1 recruitment in the state of Minnesota.

He either runs away from then like speedy Gonzales or right through them. I was curious what his track numbers were and he ran an 11.0 100 meter as a 10th grade kid and hasn't ran since. Long jumped 21.5 as a 10th grade. Bet hes way faster now as most track kids peak their senior season. Either way the kids a super athlete and even a better football player.

I would say anyone who is a 6-4 or taller gets the label. Seems like 6-3 De's or shorter don't overly excite people. (unless your Kyle Emanuel or Greg Menard) Now this kid says he's 6-6 which means he's probably 6-4 or 6-5

Getting a 6-6 defensive lineman is something we rarely see at the FCS level and it's arguably the most important position on the defense. So heck yeah! Put him in the weight room and if we have a 6-5 to 6-6 250 pounder I'll take that 100 times out of 100. We're a developmental program. Unless he doesn't have any skills of course

I think the "we hear this about every recruit" thing was referring to the need to get him into NDSU's training program, but, yeah, people do like to suggest switching players from other positions to DE.

I'm pretty sure he is being recruited as a DE even though his height, speed, and BB background might suggest TE.

Both NDSU and UN_ have reached out to Hunter Sand. He plays QB and Safety for Lakota-Dakota Prairie. NDSU is recruiting him as an athlete and UN_ as a safety. Neither have offered at this time, but both have invited him to their individual prospect camps.

Really good all around athlete and kid, 1,400 point scorer in basketball as a junior. All region player in baseball, plays ECI basketball all summer. 6'2" 205 lbs, and 4.00 GPA.

We tried that and we ended up with terrible QB play and no depth. Now we learned from that mistake and bring one in every year. Yes we may lose one or see a position change but big picture it's the right move. By doing it this way we went from Brock Jensen to Carson Wentz to now Easton Stick. All 3 of those guys played a role in the five peat. Had we not had Stick 2 years ago we would have been screwed

Almost every game I catch myself staring at the sidelines wondering about the future for some guys, then I snap out of it and realized I just missed a play...I'm weird like that. For selfish reasons I want them to stay but transferring is a reality and probably the better option for some of these guys.

The Gophers got an early QB commit in February - Brennan Armstrong, 6' 2" 210, Shelby Ohio
Perhaps that helps NDSU's chances......
The Gophers certainly know where Marshall is as Minnesota's top recruit last year was Trey Lance's teammate, OL Blaise Andries (6' 6" 305). The previous year Minnesota signed Marshall's Drew Hmielewski, a WR who had also been offered by NDSU.

Brevyn Spann-Ford had already picked up FBS offers from Iowa State, Missouri and West Virginia.

Aune also gave Minnesota a verbal. He was a 2018 NDSU offer.

After watching his highlights, this kid is so much a Bison Ram. Every play he tries to absolutely bury the guy and pancake them. He looks like he actually enjoys contact which is a a helluva good fit for a physical team

Great to see another commit!!!
Florida Bison!

BisonReport retweeting Tony Pierce and his sig!

And another posted offer from the Gopherhole guy, on Bisonation.info, DL Samuel Moore 6' 5" 230, of Verndale MN.
But......says he also has an offer from Iowa. Anyone in lake country have anything on Moore?

In looking up Samuel Moore, the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale junior won titles in track and field

Verndale's Moore dominates at state track

Verndale junior Samuel Moore won Class 1A state titles in shot put and discus. He won the discus by more than 15 feet with a throw of 180 feet, 6 inches. He won the shot put by nearly 6 feet with a throw of 59-11¾, a personal best for him.

I want to be mad, and I'm def a little disappointed. But I can't help but be impressed. Even with NDSU's success, the class you guys are putting together is extremely impressive. Congrats to the Bison fans, because you guys have a real thing going on. Just hope to see us emulate that success and stability at some point.

I'm stumped on that one. I can't find any D-backs out of Iowa were recruiting unless it went under the radar or I missed something in this thread

It's not Clark (not yet, anyway), but NDSU does have one more commitment, the kid is from Iowa and we're going to wait and let him make his own announcement. That said yesterday's fiesta is not actually over.

Maybe he means infamy from the perspective of the teams we compete with for players?

Definition of infamy
plural infamies
1
: evil reputation brought about by something grossly criminal, shocking, or brutal
2
a : an extreme and publicly known criminal or evil act
b : the state of being infamous

It makes perfect sense if you, and the company you work for, are closet (and even not so closet sometimes) UND sympathizers and water bucket carriers.

We don't know if his offers to Iowa/Iowa State were scholarship offers. If your like many student athletes, you don't want to get in life long debt.

Apparently, he was high on their (Iowa's) list earlier this year as he made this "big board" twice (#6 on 1.0 and #5 on 2.0): https://www.hawkeyenation.com/football/18-hawkeye-football-recruiting-big-board-2-0

Gotta like the last name of the latest recruit to be offered - Pulvermacher
He just sounds like a big-hitting safety.....
Chandler Pulvermacher - 6' 2" 190 - S/P Arrowhead, Hartland Wisconsin
Other offers include Western Illinois, Cornell and Indiana State.
Pulvermacher ran a 4.47 at the WFCA Combine.

Nick Goeser tweets "Another alley cat upfront. Fired up to keep this in state DT in the Bison uniform."

That sounds like Dylan Evans from Williston. Listed at 6' 4' 235.
2 DE commits already, can see why they would initially list Evans as a DT.

This kid will be a stud. Super athletic. 6-4 235 now and a has the frame to add weight. I was watching his highlights and he's stronger than hell right now at his current weight . When he adds the weight we got a dude the size of Ryan Drevlow or Nate Tanguay with similar skills

Michael Naze - TE/H Back - 6' 3" 225 - Waukesha Catholic Memorial (WI)- verballed to Navy.
(2018 NDSU Offer)
Thought I heard Ross Uglem mention him yesterday as someone NDSU was pursuing hard still.
Sounded like a good prospect for that H-back type position the Bison use so much of.
Congrats to him!
Had other offers including Southern Illinois, South Dakota, Indiana State, SDSU, Fighting Hawks

Watched part of his HUDL video - he's extremely nasty. Plays literally all the way to the whistle. On one play he kept hit a defender into the ground despite the ballcarrier being what looked like 50 yards downfield and about to score.
