Remember, generally you have 24 hrs to cancel for most airlines. I might book a revenue flight around 10 pm on Thursday.

That's not entirely true. Some sites will cache searches and raise prices, but using google flights(which, frankly, you should be using anyway) doesn't cause that to be an issue.

Who said I'm going in the winter? Not spending the money to go to boring Frisco so I can spend that money on a two week trip to Europe in a few months. My roundtrip airfare is about the same price as those flying to Dallas.

Same here. I got flight, hotel, and tickets set up.

I put one gallon of gas in my car to get me to the pep fest and game round trip to my house. Also made sure the mortgage and power are paid.
