I was hoping this was going to happen. I don't know if I've ever heard of a ND kicker having as many touchbacks as he did. Definitely has a big leg that will only improve.

Is he accurate?

Is he accurate?

If he isn't, he has 2 years to improve it.

Welcome to the Herd, fellow Deacon!

Did some quick research on the young man. He's listed at 6'3" and plays football, basketball and soccer. I'm guessing he's a pretty darn good athlete.

Wow. Don't know him, but thought he would have picked up an offer to play soccer. He's not just a kid that played soccer and decided to play football, but rather a very good soccer player.

Great addition to the Herd!

Story from back in September about playing both sports-

Reinholz pulled double duty the last couple of years, racking up a state record 43 goals (soccer)
while also kicking field goals and extra points for the Deacons.

Reinholz was the ND Senior Player of the Year in soccer, 1st team all-State.

More today on Jake Reinholz from Kolpack:

"It was a pretty tough decision," Reinholz said. "I had a few options between football and soccer."

In soccer, that included Division II schools in Missouri and Colorado. It was always his sport growing up, since he was 4 years old. But the fit with NDSU was both football and an engineering major, two things the school excels at.

"Academics was my No. 1 priority," he said.

Is he accurate?

He set the state record for field goals per a source. His long FG was lower to mid 40 yards.

Anyone who has watched Twins' baseball over the years has heard Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven say
"The pitcher is the best athlete on the team......:)"

Well, maybe we can start saying the kicker is the "best athlete on the team" for Bison football.
Jake Reinholz with 26 points to lead Shanley to the ND State Class A basketball tournament.
They beat GF Red River 76-69 in a state qualifying game. Reinholz listed at 6' 4" in the article.
Was named to the All-EDC team. This is on top of being ND soccer's state player of the year!

Jake was named the Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year for ND.

Great athlete. He could be a legitimate threat for some fake punts/fgs.

Reinholz finishes his career as the only Bison kicker in history to be perfect in PAT kicks. (87/87).

Also, second best career FG %.

Seems like he flew a bit under the radar despite a top notch few years.

Goes to show how special teams usually only comes up when it’s mason Crosby like bad.

Awesome! He was my MVP before Luepke stole everyone’s hearts. So dependable

Not only all that, he is an elite athlete in his own right! He saved our collective asses on more than one occasion by running down kick returners from behind when special teams coverage had broke down.

Somebody go talk him into getting another Masters degree and taking his Covid year.

We've been extremely lucky with our kickers over the years. Towards the end of the season I kept thinking to myself, damn we're good at FG/PATs. Jake scored us 106 points this season. All other teams scored 167 against us. Go Jake and go code green.
