There is another thread questioning why NDSU fans have badly wanted a game with EWU to wash the taste out.

Good example here.

NDSU fans for the most part accept a loss and look for opportunities to improve. When the refs bail a team out, and some of their fans are poor winners because of it, not so much.

A more likable fan base might say "great game, can see where you think we got some breaks, but happy for our team to move on!"

Or simply "scoreboard bitch!" Still at least 2x more likable.

I had previously thought of this game as a coin flip, but you just reminded me of some player motivation beyond simply blaming the refs.
