Vraa, Bonnett, LeCompte, and CJ Smith I'm sure. Probably Albers. Maybe Jeremy Kelly??? Would be fun to hear Schaetz's rep number benching 225 but I don't think he's planning to pursue a pro career.

Beck certainly is a possibility with his injury last year. Not sure about Dudzik, he participated last year if I recall so I don't know if he'd do it again.

The better thing for him is that the team he is on was in the Championship last year and the guy that is starting is in his 40s I believe, so he more than likely will get some playing time.

I have no idea where some guys get this stuff. Beck is one of the GOATs for the Bison....but with how much of a beating he took....and the measurables he would have....he wasnt going to be able to make a career of it. I feel the same way about guys like Heagle, Olson, Vraa (frankly), etc....

Dudzik told me he is going to try out as a FS and WR!! Been working out with Brock Jensen and Ryan Smith---says he's in best shape of his life
With his speed--hope he gets an invite to a camp

I'd be surprised if Ben LeCompte doesn't also get a camp invite----punting stud

Kinda nice have a few guys at each position to work out with------Haeg and Kelly; Albers and Bonnet; Champion and Smith----Dudzik
Vraa and Dudzik----wonder if allowed to have younger guys like RJ run routes for Carson

any other guys around showing up

The article in the Forum yesterday mentioned that he's working with the Jiriks at a local gym/training center in Fargo. It piqued my interest about how a regular Joe like myself could get involved with them and do some workouts. I feel that it's probably geared toward the athlete (which I'm not) whether that be college aged, high school, or even younger, and that the focus would be strength and conditioning along with speed and acceleration programs. I'll probably do a little Bing search after I finish writing this post and see what I can find out about their training center. My inner Bison football geek/nerd/fanatic would love the chance to train with Dudz and Cole some time.

Why not give them a call? Or just show up at the training center. I wouldnt think that there business model would exclude the general public as catering to just athletes as it would cut out potential clients-revenue.

Got a phone call from the Frisco Roughriders today since I purchased tickets from the pepfest. After I told the guy I didn't think I'd be able to make it down for any games because I live in North Dakota, we had about a 5-10 minute conversation about Carson Wentz and the NFL draft, initiated by him.

They just showed Goff's water bottle throws, and they let him hold the ball and he turned the laces away from the water and his hand wasn't squirted. They didn't drench it and he had time to shake the ball. With Carson it was squirt it once, over his hand and laces, than as he slapped the ball it got another shot of water, and much more drenching. He did ok other than the first throw.

Plus, Goff dried his hand on the back of his shirt.

The water bottle drill just showed how quickly Wentz can assimilate, and that is a huge plus.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000647381/article/wentz-impresses-at-north-dakota-states-pro-day

Representatives from 18 NFL teams -- including Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson and assistant coach Pep Hamilton -- were on hand for North Dakota State's pro day on Thursday. The school had confirmations from all 32 NFL teams to attend the pro day, but weather in Chicago held up connecting flights and prevented many from attending the workout.

There were nine Bison players plus three additional players from area small schools who participated in the workout, which was held indoors and run on FieldTurf.

Quarterback Carson Wentz -- 6-foot-5 1/8, 237 pounds -- looked very good in his pro-day workout. He went through a scripted workout, and then the Browns' Hamilton -- as he did with Cal QB Jared Goff last week -- made Wentz throw a wet football.

Offensive tackle Joe Haeg -- 6-6 1/8, 305 -- stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine, with the exception of the broad jump (9 feet, 3 inches). As was the case at the combine, Haeg was unable to lift weights because of a shoulder injury suffered at the Senior Bowl that hasn't completely healed yet.

Cornerback CJ Smith -- 5-11, 188 -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds on both attempts. He had a 39-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-11 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.13 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.0 seconds. He performed seven reps on the bench press. Smith has really good hands and looked good in the positional drills. Smith is a possible rookie free-agent pickup for a team following the 2016 NFL Draft.

Punter Ben LeCompte -- 5-9 3/4, 199 -- could get a look by an NFL team either in training camp or in rookie minicamp.

North Dakota State hosted a very well-organized pro day. The NFL representatives in attendance all got a copy of Wentz's scripted workout ahead of time.

CJ's vertical and broad would have been top 5 among all DBs at the combine.

The same way we dress up for a job interview and put our best foot forward to make a good impression, NDSU did a terrific job making a good impression for today's visitors. That can only help the players participating today - give everyone a positive feeling even before the event begins.

to put it in perspective, I compared CJ's testing numbers to other corners at the combine...

If you forget about the bench press (7 is pretty low), he has numbers nearly identical to a guy named Vernon Hargreaves- a very talented guy for the Gators...

Want to guess where he is projected to be drafted by many of the experts: TOP 10

However, CJ is 12-13 lbs lighter which is a big deal as a corner in the NFL.

The 2016 NDSU Pro Day was just another example of excellence from our program. NDSU got to showcase some of their student athletes and bring along a few guys from other school. All positive exposure like this is great for NDSU and the State of North Dakota. We are not the backward cowboy and Indians like the country may think we are. The intro to the show looked great. Nice campus shots. Nice shot of our tunnel, trophy case, and locker room, which will soon be upgraded. Then awesome HD game highlights of Carson in the dome with Scotty

I just watched the broadcast on DVR. I am filled with Bison Pride right now and I find myself getting a little emotional about it. (RUBE). How great was this for the school, the program, as well as #11? There was a time for those of us who live out of town, trying to get info about the team meant waiting until the local paper printed last Saturdays scores the Monday after, IF... they even bothered. Now I can watch the games in my own living room if I so choose and this Pro day is on NFL network. The way Mayock and the other broadcasters talked about the program made me so proud. You are right. Not a single FCS/D1AA program has been as successful as the Montana Grizzlies at pissing away national Championships. 5 time runner ups.

On top of that, the press Montana has received from their football program can't be matched by other FCS programs. I mean what other FCS programs can say they had a nationally renowned author write a book featuring their university's problem dealing with sexual assaults?

Remember that time Montana hosted Gameday ? Remember that time Montana won 5 consecutive FCS national championships? Remember that time Montana had NFL Network airing their pro day live? Remember that time Montana beat the reigning Big 12 champions live on Fox Sports? Fuck...No FCS program can hold a candle to them.

We paid good money for the Canyon Club at WaGriz for the August game. We were treated like crap. Fortunately, I talked to a very nice Griz fan at the playoff game in Fargo. He said some of the ticket holders in the Canyon Club are Griz big shot wannabes, which explained their arrogance a little.

After the experience my wife and I had in MT in August, I decided to spend some of our away game money on contributing to the Bison funds instead of airline tickets and such.

Lol you are delusional. There are four presidents on Mount Rushmore. If you are naming the four most notable FCS programs of all time, I am going with the following.

Georgia Southern
NDSU
App State
Youngstown State

Those 4 programs have alll won more national championships than Montana and were far FAR more dominant when they were in the middle of their respective runs than at any point in Montana's history.

You guys are the Minnesota Vikings of the FCS. Passionate fan base, always think they are better than they usually are and usually have teams who piss it down their leg when it matters.

In order for that to have happened, doofus, you had to have everything click for you, and you had to have a Bison defense with as bunch of new faces in their first action, and their stud DB returner injured and unable to play. You had to have the Bison stud QB injured in the 3rd Quarter. Then you had to have the Bison OC have a brain fart on their last series. The second game showed just how lucky you were in the first game (and that game was without the stud QB, notwithstanding, a pretty damn good freshman QB). Oh, and even with all of that, it still couldn't have happened except at your place.

All 4 of those teams had a identity. Montana hasn't known who they are for a long time now. Are they a hurry up spread team, a power team, a D first team or do they play no D at all. They keep trying to find themselves and in that time have not found anything or given themselves a chance to be known for something.

Let's take a look at those "Chippers" from the 1980's. Based on final polling from masseyratings.com

1983 Bison ended up ranked 88th in all of college football. They would have finished 10th in Div 1-aa ranking. ( Montana was ranked 202nd )
1985 Bison ended up ranked 65th in all of college football. They would have finished 7th in Div 1-aa ranking. ( Montana was ranked 239th )
1986 Bison ended up ranked 29th in all of college football. They would have finished 1st in Div 1-aa ranking. ( Montana was ranked 110th )
1988 Bison ended up ranked 59th in all of college football. They would have finished 3rd in Div 1-aa ranking. ( Montana was ranked 118th )
1990 Bison ended up ranked 38th in all of college football. They would have finished 1st in Div 1-aa ranking. ( Montana was ranked 93rd )

Can we finally put to rest all this bashing of the division 2 era, not only by this troll but by our own ignorant fan base. If you look at the numbers there wasn't a lick of difference between the Bison of the 1980's and the very top of the I-aa football. In fact if you look across the football spectrum all of the upper levels were closer together. In the 1980's I-aa teams were beating I-a teams at a rate that is 3 times higher then today's head to head match ups of FCS vs. FBS.

If your from Montana you should be damn glad you didn't have to get ass slapped in head to head competition with the Bison of the 80's.

I agree. The 80s National Championship teams played at a high level. D2 was actually good back then and had bigger scholarship numbers to play around with. They knew how to use their resources.

The old division 2 was nothing more than what fcs is today before they lowered the Scholls level.

I would have to agree with what you stated.........except for the passion and fan base. The attendance at the Jacks/Griz playoff game last year was 14,000 and change in a 25000 plus seat stadium. WTH ? ? Was it chilly ? cold ? too cold ? DAMN cold ??? It appears to me that there are a goodly number of "fair-weather" fans in Grizdom. IT'S THE PLAYOFFS.......SUCK IT UP !!!!

It was thanksgiving break so all students were at home. The first home playoff games are often like that in Missoula. But the NCAA still will almost garauntee a Montana home game because een on our worst days we pull more fans than any other school. Its all about dat money brother!

NDSU has a better stadium. I couldn't even see half of the near end zone from those seat they put into the corners.
NDSU has a fewer losing seasons in the past 50 years than Montana
I've only been to 3 Montana games (2 in Missoula) so I can't really say if one fan base is better than the other.
Success -- 5-peat.

I've been to both. You take those mountains out of the background and you have a basic stadium with an overcrowded concourse and impossibly hard concessions. Even with half of you alcoholics running out to the parking lot to get one more drink before the withdrawal sweats set in, you can't even get to the bathroom to take a piss.

maybe it's been posted, but is there a link to the pro day results? or is that not public knowledge?

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000647381/article/wentz-impresses-at-north-dakota-states-pro-day

I believe Dudzik ran a 4.35 40. Champion was 4.6, and Vraa was 4.7.

You're right dude the dome is way better...who doesn't enjoy being hungover by the second quarter......If left with the decision to go to the Fargodome....or stand in an empty silo and bang a wrench on the walls for 4 hours...I suppose I would choose the dome.

I wonder why Wa-Griz keeps popping up on top 10 stadiums lists for both FBS and FCS. You should really write someone and give them your expert analysis.

The best stadium? Is that all you've got? I would rather play in the Dome and win five straight FCS national championships than be in a "top 10" stadium and go 2-5.
