Jesus they need to let this go. It's not like Plano/Frisco had all this love the whole time. Didn't happen the first year. It was earned. Now earn yours JSU or stfu.

If I were a JSU fan, I'd maybe feel a little pissed. I would feel a little slighted had it been both team's first time there. But come on. It's not like this is the NCAA or anyone official welcoming NDSU more. Last I checked, NDSU fans have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in their city the past 4 years. But money spent is not the only reason they are being very welcome to us. It's because people from ND/MN and Bison fans in general are all pretty friendly, polite, law abiding, and fun people to be around. The JSU fans will find this out as well. I know 99.9% of Bison fans this weekend will treat them pretty well. Southern hospitality meets Minnesota (ND) nice; how could you go wrong.

The poor poor poor me Cocky fans are not going to be real happy then when they see all the green and yellow in that part of town. It just is the way it is.

Lets say 20,000 fans that each spend $1000 that is a $20,000,000 impact on the North Dallas suburbs. Now take that time 5 years and it is a $100,000,000 of new money dumped into the economy from us northerners. New money into a community is turned over a average of 7x.

That puts us at about a 700 million impact to the North Dallas communities. Ya see why they are happy to see us.

OK, that's probably too much. They said it was about a $6 million impact. That might not be much but post holidays is a pretty dead time of year.

It's really just the marginal increase in the number of fans and the marginal increase in spending instead of the whole nut, but it's still a big number.

The 2015 matchup is expected to have a $6 million economic impact just in Frisco city limits alone.

Inside the city limits of Frisco, that's too high but for the total trip that's pretty close. Our airfare is 700. parking 60. hotel 300. rental car 100. food and drink 500. If I end up getting my wife pregnant after weekend of boozing and a hotel room without our kids, $245,340 (until age 18).

So they are complaining about Frisco/Plano, our fans don't respect their team and don't think that they belong in the championship game (butt Auburn), we brag about 12 national titles, they come here and talk trash and are upset that we give it back to them, we disrespected them by posting our highlight video on their board, they have a better record and the #1 seed so they should be the home team, and, horrors, we don't appreciate their band like we should---these guys are bigger whiners than UND.

StL Bison Fan
01-06-2016, 05:41 PM
The SHSU fans got pissy about the signs and flags the second year. Then someone on their board called them out saying that their fans drove up and then drove home. That we spent actual money. They got it.
They also learned how to be fans. Ive always liked them because of that.

Meh think the number is a bit flawed since each individual person is not buying a hotel room so that gets spread out, and some are more thrifty than others when it comes to travel food etc. Not to mention the large amount of drivers would be spending much of that money other than North Dallas and surrounding areas. Overall impact from Fargo and other large hubs of fans (MSP/Denver) to Dallas you may be getting close. For family of 3 one year and 4 the other year doubt if we spent much over $2000 as a family both times.

Flight $288 (no impact to Frisco)
Hotel $70 (my portion)
Car Rental $32 (my portion)
Meals $60 (estimated)
Gas $30
Ticket $55

It's possible I could buy a souvenir or two or pick up a gift for my wife, but my total will only be about $535 with half of that being the flight. If I were a drinker that amount goes up significantly.

The first year we went down there the hotel we were staying at had bought a stuffed Bearkat to put on their bar, obviously thinking it would be a majority of Bearkat fans being only two hours away. Nobody went on twitter, but that Bearkat had a Bison jersey on within the first hour we were there and stayed on for the duration of the weekend.

Whiners. Instead of complaining over the World Wide Web, perhaps they could establish a strong foundation by bringing 15,000 fans to Frisco and investing in the local communities, building relationships, etc. Not impressed one bit.

As an aside, can anyone ask the B52 pilot to drop free NDSU frisbee so, footballs, etc. out of the plane for all the fans. That would be so cool.

I'm pretty sure most of the internet blow hards don't even know where Plano is. It's the stupid world we live in. For all the back and forth you see on message boards I bet 90% of the people that go will have no clue that there was so much shit talk before the game. Myself and everyone I know that's going are excited for the experience and I think you'll all see that we're a pretty friendly bunch that's really proud of our football team. This is just a snapshot of social media venting. I know tons of people that are going from the Jacksonville area, and they are all excited for the whole atmosphere. We get it that y'all will have at least a 3:1 advantage with fan attendance and that's ok. It's not going to keep our fans from being proud to be there in support of our team. It's brought the school and community together in a really cool way. We actually have nothing but respect for Bison nation and look forward to drinking and hanging out with y'all. Safe travels to you all and see you in Plano...ahem...Frisco!!

Safe travels and look forward to seeing your fans.

Yeah, they'll bring a couple RVs and a few cars.

The Bison will bring a bunch of buses and thousands of cars. And a bomber.
Bomber should circle Frisco and buzz the stadium every time they have the ball. I doubt that is listed as a foul in the rule book.
