Anyone know what's up with Lamar?

I believe he's a free agent and hasn't signed yet. This blurb I found using Google news seems to confirm that fact : http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/14444537.htm

I just emailed my buddy that works with the Minnesota Vikings.... he is an ASST for Rob Brezinski/.....

Lamar is ON their list of free agents they are interested in:

Apparantly they are very happy with Chester Taylor, Merwelde Moore, Ciatrik Fiason..... *tony richardson & Kleinfumbler as fullbacks*

So Lamar and anyone else that comes in will have to prove themselves quickly.

I personally would like to see Lamar, but honestly Chester Taylor is very similar runner to Lamar... soo don't count on it...

He is listed on ESPN.com as an unrestricted free agent, just to confirm what has been said on here earlier.

If Priest Holmes retires he might get a shot in KC to try and backup Larry Johnson. Lamar has had fumbling problems and he has had a tough time staying healthy. That combination will get you out of the league in a hurry.

I'd be interested in having him sign here, simply because he is a bigger back (listed at 225) and the only non-fullback ballcarrier on the Vikings Roster is Adimchinobe Echemandu, so they could use a bigger-back for some occaisional short yardage work. It should be interesting to see where he ends up.

Any chance he signed again with Philadelphia? At one time he was listed on NFL.com as just a player, no team assigned to him. Now yesterday, I looked again, and he's listed as Philadephia. :-/

I checked Philadelphia's website and he isn't on their roster, so I'm thinking he probably hasn't resigned with them at this point.

Just for the record, *how many touchdowns did he score in his career against UND?

Enough to make it to the NFL.

Sounds like Lamar is still unsigned and available.

Here is a comment on the available running backs from Len Pasquerelli's ESPN Tip Sheet.

Running back: Not much at tailback, unless a team feels Jonathan Wells might be a good fit as a No. 3 guy on the depth chart, or that Lamar Gordon has something left in the tank. Nick Luchey, who worked out for the Houston Texans this week, is the top fullback still unsigned.

They never speak too highly of Lamar. Its too bad he hasn't gotten the chance to play regularly someplace where there was a good offensive line too.

Granted the O Line in Miami was terrible, but his 2 main issues have been injuries and fumbling

Tiki Barber seems to have corrected his problem with fumbling last year, maybe Lamar should visit with him and see how.

Remember Tony Satter had all kinds of talent but he fumbled 3 times in the preseason game he played in and never had another shot.

That is part of the problem with a running back going from division II to the NFL. Big difference in the speed and size of the defenders.
