So far so good in the Global Sports Hoops Showcase but now comes the big challenge against a solid Mountain West team in Utah St. They won't overwhelm us with size but they are a solid team and not having Kory Brown to defend will hurt us a little in this one. Bison open at 4 1/2 point underdogs but if we can put together a full 40 minute basketball game we have a good chance to come out of this one with a W. Just can't afford to the long stretches of not scoring against a team like Utah St. We can finally watch a game this tournament and as far as I can tell it streams for free at:

Let's finish this thing 3-0!

It will be nice to have video for this game. Bison started playing a lot better in the second half last night. Will need that kind of effort tonight because Utah State is significantly better then both teams we have played. Would be nice to finish off the non-conference season with a nice D1 win (yes I realize we play something call Northland next Wed) and head into conference play with a little momentum.

Go Bison!

Utah State is much closer to the higher end Summit teams than others we have been playing lately. This should be a good gauge, and I really hope we win.

Going to need good games from AJ and Miller. Can't get off to the slow start either, a team like USU at home will bury us if we do it again.

Utah State's weapons include 6' 8" 215 F Jalen Moore (13.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg)
& 6' 4" SG Chris Smith (14.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg). Could have used KB's defense
to help out on those 2. Hope his injury is not serious.
Fun game to see, GoBizon!

Big Game tonight again. Which one of the young guys has a breakout game tonight? I think Dylan Miller comes into his own with Dex and those two control the paint. Paul and AJ get hot from outside. Khy with the drive and dish.

Utah State RPI - 164 - 8th in Mountain West - Boise State #71
NDSU RPI - 180 - 5th in Summit - South Dakota State #65

I'm kind of waiting for AJ to have a break out game.

Didn't realize our RPI was that low. Guess we really haven't played anybody either.

Let's get this win in a tough environment. Would be nice and a big boost for these guys.

Me neither. At least that means there are 4 Summit teams with higher
RPI's, so beating them should help. The only other chances on the RPI
front for NDSU were all losses, Illinois & Iowa State & S Miss.

Why is Clements shooting 3's when he can't make them?

Man you could see Kory Brown walking towards the locker room. He was not moving very fast and could only take very small steps. 2 days out so should be hitting max inflammation but it doesn't look good at all.

Utah st shooting well but man are we not moving on o or d. We look lost against the zone defense. Down by 12 now.

Richman definitely was outside of the coaching box. Terrible call. Miller basically was standing up with his arms up and Utah State got an and 1.

Need to get defensive stops. USU is shooting it really good. Clements gets ran over and is called a blocking foul after the shot is missed. Really late whistle on that one. A lot of questionable calls tonight if you ask me.

Man are we taking horse shit low percentage shots.

Our defense is really bad. Not sure if they are tired or Utah St just confusing them. But good grief it has been a long time since I have since defense played this bad.

Dex not a USU fan favorite...Crowd launching some jeers towards him.

I wouldn't mind seeing us pulling up once in while to take a 12-15 ft shot and also I would like to see some backdoor plays...

Mid range jump shot is s lost art. It seems today it's either a funk/layup or 3. Not much in between which is too bad because to beat a zone D you should penetrate the seems imho.

We dont have a guy we can rely on to get to the rim and finish consistently like LA last year. Not having Brown will hurt us defensively. I havent been able to watch a lot of games this year, how are Kabellis and Clements progressing defensively? Dupree had a decent night but would like to see more consistency there. We really need a 3rd option to step up and take the load off of Paul Miller and AJ. Pack the lane and you have a good shot at beating us. Fortunately, we will still be a threat in the Summit, however the league is improved and we will need to steal some wins on the road.
