I am in the shot, though you can't see me, i'm right behind Sigurd, the shorter Trumpet player.
I found this pic on ONE HERD, its from championship game on Jan. 4th 2014 (the 2013 undefeated season).

To answer your question, i think the photographer got lucky and that Sigurd was pinned in with the rest of the band because of the team coming through.
