Playoff Implications
CCU at Liberty 6 p.m. ESPN News/WatchESPN- This is a game CCU must win to keep their chances of getting a seed alive, should the beach chickens lose Charleston Southern will be a lock to get seeded. For Liberty this game means nothing more than sending CCU out of the Big South with a loss.

Villanova at James Madison 11 a.m. Comcast Sports CA- JMU is locked in the field with 8 DI wins, Nova has worked themselves back into the mix after beating Richmond. A win over the Dukes would likely make them a lock for the field since they also beat Fordham earlier this season.

William and Mary at Richmond 11 a.m. Comcast Sports MA- William and Mary will clinch the CAA title with a win and also lock down a seed in the FCS playoffs. Richmond would clinch a share of the title with a win and might have an outside seed shot. The Spiders could also find themselves in bubble trouble with a loss, they have 7 DI wins but a loss would give them three straight to close the season.

Montana at Montana State 1 p.m. Root Sports NW/SW/RM, Audience- Typically the Brawl of the Wild would be a lock for FCS Game of the Week but the Bobcats have floundered this year. They do have a shot to end Montana's playoff wins, the Griz are in with a win and if they lose they are done.

SIU at UNI 4 p.m. ESPN3- UNI controls its playoff destiny, win and they are an absolute stone cold lock....lose and it is time to focus on hoops in Cedar Falls. The stache has been a thorn in Farely's side over the years....could he pull off another upset?

PSU at EWU 4:05 p.m. Big Sky TV- After losing to NAU and Montana big EWU is just clinging to their playoff lives, a win would make them a lock and a loss eliminates them. Meanwhile for PSU a win would give them a seed, both teams could also win the conference with a win and perhaps the autobid depending on how things play out.

St. Francis at Duquesne 11 a.m. ESPN3- This is for the conference title in the NEC, winner gets the coveted autobid and of course that will be the only spot in the playoffs that the NEC will garner.

EKU at EIU 1 p.m. ESPN3- An OVC elimination game, whoever wins will likely be the only at-large from the OVC and the loser goes home. EIU should they get in would be a likely opponent for UNI.

SHSU at UCA 6 p.m. ESPN3- Another elimination game, the SLC is down this season and neither SHSU nor UCA have a quality win but the winner will have done just enough to be the SLC's only at-large.

UND at Cal Poly 8:05 p.m. Big Sky TV- The no names(maybe they will have a name when this game kicks off) need to win this game to have an at-large shot. Their wins against Portland State and Wyoming give them a compelling case for an at-large, they do have a bad loss to Idaho State. I think they have a solid hot to get in with a win but might need a few of their fellow bubble teams to lose on Saturday to feel safe.

FCS Game of the Week
NAU at SUU 4 p.m. Big Sky TV- This is surprisingly a huge game. If SUU win they lock up the Big Sky title and autobid all for themselves. If NAU wins it creates a three or four team log jam in the Big Sky that could result in a number of teams getting the atuobid depending on how Saturday shakes out. In another crazy note SUU could lose, share for the conference title and miss the playoffs because the Thunderbirds would not have seven DI wins. NAU would also only have six DI wins with a loss.

SUU reached a 6-1 record in the Big Sky without having beaten another top 6 team in the conference(PSU is the only top 6 BSC team SUU has played)...maybe this massive conference idea wasn't so great but the Big Sky is stuck with it. If they win they are the champs, SUU gave PSU all they could handle last week...NAU has been on a roll scoring 49 or more points in their last four games. This should be a fun game to follow with a ton on the line.

I'm going to go with CCU. Liberty's out and CCU's in the playoffs no matter what. In the off chance we lose this Sat we're still in, but not seeded(at least not top 4). In that case we want weak seeds on our side in the hopes they lose early and home games go to bidding, which we'd win in most cases.

So looking at the big fluffy, if SUU wins, they lock up the conference title and the autobid.

There are all sorts of fun scenarios if SUU loses:
PSU wins: PSU wins conference and autobid.
PSU loses and Montana loses: NAU wins conference and autobid.
PSU loses and Montana wins: Montana wins conference and autobid.
There is no scenario where EWU can win the conference because no matter who they tie with, they lose the head to head and they will do no better than at least tie with NAU.

The CAA also has some goofy scenarios. But I think the way their tie breakers work out, it is pretty much the Richmond/W&M game will determine the auto-bid. If Richmond wins, there will be three teams with 6-2 records and all three will hold a head to head against each other and have identical records among their group of three. Then Richmond will have the next best win against W&M because they beat Villanova and would finish ahead of Villanova even though Villanova beat Richmond. Unless that somehow doesn't decide descending order in the standings because that is the last criteria. If it doesn't, then the other schools not involved in the tiebreaker vote on who the auto-bid goes to because they don't want to wait until the next morning for Sagarin to come out.
