FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State University is calling all fans, students, faculty and staff to welcome ESPN's "SportsCenter on the Road" bus to the NDSU campus Thursday afternoon.

Spectators should line Albrecht Boulevard from 12th Avenue North to Minard Hall and South Engineering toward the iconic Bison statue at the campus entrance for the bus arrival at 5 p.m.

The event will be featured on the ESPN family of networks during Friday programming in advance of Saturday's 6 a.m. SportsCenter, which will be televised live from Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.

Public parking for Thursday's bus arrival is available after 4:30 p.m. in the T lot on 12th Avenue and in the Memorial Union and Visitor Lot on campus. Street parking is not allowed on 12th Avenue or campus, except in designated areas.

The NDSU Bookstore is open in the Memorial Union until 6 p.m. Thursday for Bison apparel and other merchandise.

It was underwhelming to be honest. I swung over from work to partake. I know the bus arrival isn't near as big a deal as the actual event but I would have liked to see a bit more participation. Hopefully be show up in droves for the Saturday morning show.

Yes it was a weak turnout. Apparently they were expecting a line from 12th Ave all the way to the Bison statue and there were 300 people if your lucky. St Thomas kicked our ass. Maybe weather had something to do with it but obviously they didn't do enough.

What's annoying me the most is they are only letting 4k fans in the dome Saturday. (That's what they had on Valley News Live) If I'm getting my ass out of bed at 330 am I'll be kind of pissed if they won't let me in because the dome can't find some volunteers to pick up some garbage. Lame.

I don't think we've wowed this Sportscenter group. It may be routine for fans but being a small school we need to stick out... and we didn't

Did you call the dome and volunteer to pick up garbage? No? Were you there when the bus came through? NO? Now thats lame.
And why in the hell do we need to stick out?

ESPN doesn't really care about this...just pack 4k in the dome, be loud and make it look good for what really matters.

What ever happened to just cleaning up after yourself? Besides, are they even opening concessions for this?

No concessions. It just takes a lot of people to clean up after all of us fat, football watching, boorish, catcalling, beer swilling slobs.

I'm attending and paying for the event so why would I volunteer to pick shit up. That's not my job. If the city could organize a bus system and and shut down Broadway for 3 days with 4 days notice, any idiot who gave a shit could organize some volunteers to pick shit up in the dome.

And if you ask why we have to stick out, you'll really never get it.

Yeah I'm paying for my reserved tailgating spot but I should take my time to clean up during it. That's a dick move idea. NDSU could have sent out a tweet or posted something on Facebook and they would have gotten more volunteers tHan needed. When they needed people to put porn poms on the seats, they actually turned people away.

Quit being a douche. If they wanted to organize some volunteers, they could have easily done it. I volunteed to put porn poms and the dome seats and they turned me away because there were too many. Because of shitty leadership, many of the fans won't even be able to see the live broadcast because apparently it's too big of a deal to pick up some garbage. And even if there is some garbage, who gives a shit. It's like cleaning your oven 5 minutes before you use it or taking a shower before a workout. Just stupid. I knew they would fuck something up. Can't get tailgating right and get more than 4k fans in a 19 seat

I'll be quite honest here...I doubt that the 4k limit will be met, especially with the extended tailgating hours going on right outside, so why are you even bitching about extra volunteers?

As evident from above...the bus welcoming was a huge fail. but if youre not within 2 blocks of the party @ the time the bus was supposed to arrive, how many people actually drove from out of town, or across town to be apart of this? I wouldnt go if I was on campus because it looked lame. Gameday bus is a whole nother animal but even then, I didnt go to either of those.

I only volunteer when a judge tells me to do community service.

Don't they still have the party patrol I'm sure they could round up some "volunteers"

Doubt the dome will be messed up after this event.......and where were the athletic faculty and student athletes? They alone could number more than I saw in that photo of the bus arriving. Again big fail.

Could it possibly be that they were at practice? This is prime practice time for all sports.

I used to clean the Englestad the mornings after a games to raise money for a team I was on and I can attest that it is bad. I think that goes for any stadium. The smell of day old beer and day old popcorn combined is beyond rancid.

Unless it was the Hockey Night in Canada tour bus, UND wouldn't do any better.

Easy solution: Stop selling concessions, especially peanuts and popcorn, and have garbage cans on the end of every aisle.

I don't put much stock into the small crowd yesterday. It was at 5:00 and on campus. Sure, students could have had a better turnout since they are on campus. But the rest of us work until 5 and parking sucks on campus. The last 2 years when the Gameday bus came through, it was at 6:00 and downtown. Everyone was off work and it was easier to get to. I fully expect a big crowd tomorrow morning.

Why are you focusing on garbage? That's certainly not the issue at all of why they may or may not set a limit. The limit is a rumor anyway, I highly doubt they would turn anyone away from packing the Dome

Its not a rumor. They had bullet points on Valley News Live last night that said

-Limited to 4,000 fans

Meanwhile we have espn people tweeting they are hoping for a minimum of 7k.

Nice job planning

silly to limit this in my opinion. When I have been to the dome for spring game, high school events and basketball the acoustics are pretty weird when the stands are less than half full. hope there is a great turnout and the limit is disregarded.

Solution: Make the Dome look responsible for the low turnout, I'm sure we can get 7k fans in there, the Dome will just limit it. All we need is a huge turnout outside the Dome and make sure that SC gets footage of it to make BisoNation look as good as we have the past two times ESPN has been here!! :fight:
