Totally Agree!! The new Sanford Premier Center is amazing and the atmosphere is just as good. But man it felt good beating SDSU there last March! Much nicer facility than the old Sioux Falls butt-hockey arena. The more Bison Fans we can get down there for the tourney the better, need to cancel out that :bunnyb: SDSU home court advantage.

Have to admit, I don't follow this comment. The old arena was horrible for hockey, and was built for basketball. Even if very old, it was a good place to watch a BBalll game, but hockey could not even have a full rink. It was awful for hockey.

The Premier Center was specifically designed to be a good hockey venue where you could also have a nice basketball facility.

Guess I'm not familiar with the arena history. But being there for 5 Summit League BB tournaments the design fitted BB real well, didn't seem to have a bad set in the house, much like the Dome. But for hockey it would seem rather awkward with the front row being 10' above the ice. And then seeing and playing (trumpet) in the new Sanford Premier Center last March, there was a noticeable difference in the scope and price of the facility.

Upon doing research, the Premier center cost 10x's that of the old arena, when both compared in 2015 dollars (12M vs. 117M). Didn't know that the old arena was build from 59' to 61' tho!! Seems to have aged quite well.

Crazy thing about that old arena, it really is a good basketball facility for fans seeing a game. Just horrible for players and nice amenities. Locker rooms were horrible.

The lowest seat you saw at the Bball tourney are not permanent; they come out. Also, the end of the arena by the bands has no seats for hockey. It is a fantastic hockey venue with great site lines. Only blunder they made were the railings going to the concourses as they impede views.

Since there's a bit of discussion on the old SF Arene, thought you guys might be interested in the fact that Augie has been playing there for the last few years:

I've been to a couple games, and it is a really nice setup. They have curtains up so smaller crowds feel big. Average attendance the last two years was over 2600 (capacity is setup around 4000 I believe).

If they hadn't just built a brand new, football stadium, my guess is they would already be in the Summit League.

Taking a play right out of Frisco's playbook. How often are 2/3 year passes done in these type of situations for NCAA events?

Agreed, however, this is fundamentally different than Frisco. This is NOT run by the NCAA like Frisco. This is run by the Summit League, but no doubt they know how to play the NCAA game.....

BTW, in order to get good seats I think this is a better deal than Frisco. You always kind of knew that Frisco seats would be open relatively easy if you buy when they go on sale; this is a bit of different animal as seat location is a huge deal in basketball.

Yeah but I have to think it may have been Frisco idea even though NCAA sold the tickets?? Maybe not.

A couple more weeks and Jack fans should be ready to sell. :):)

Unless they get in the ZONE
They might skip it though if they are ZONED out
When they do sell I would look for them in front of the Arena in the no parking ZONE

Right now only all session passes are available via ticketmaster. They do open single session passes closer to the tournament for fans who dont want all all session tickets. NDSU usually is also alottted a number of all session passes you can buy through them. Does anyone know when those become available?

We plan on going but don't know if we can go all days. Can I assume in a place that large we will be able to get tickets later?

Yes, they will open the upper sections as they sell out. Generally you can move down lower if we arent playing SDSU,or if we are, you can always sit in the endzone.
