Perhaps I'm misreading this but isn't this a requirement? Don't they have to try out students every year?

This is correct.

This is correct.

How has this worked out? Have they gotten any players who have contributed ? I realize they have to give students a try-out.

This is my year.

Past reasons for my not making the team have included:

1.) Not eligible now that I'm a grad student
2.) Not in "football shape"
3.) Poor fundamentals
4.) 40 time not up to par (which I contest, pretty sure I could dust the time expected of an OL)
5.) Nobody brings juice boxes for after practice
6.) Something along the lines of "stop coming here"
7.) Apparently there is no fifth down
8.) Carried ball towards wrong endzone

I was, however, fast-tracked to a spot on UND's roster and am now counted as a student despite having never set foot on campus (as if that's ever mattered).

No, he's not the prototypical height. He's a hybrid waterboy / get back coach.
