Payton & Buchanon watch lists

They have posted the watch list for the Payton & Buchanon awards in I-AA. I noticed that Kyle Steffes and Steve Walker were not on the list, nor was Joe Mays. Jon Grant of UC-Davis and James Noble of Cal Poly are. Does NDSU have to be through the transition for the players to be eligible?

No, NDSU does not have any issues of being still on probation. UC Davis still has a year left of probation yet their QB Grant was named to the list. This list changes throughout the year. These are the top 32 preseason players but if other performers put up some stats, they will be added. I am hoping for a sweep of the I-AA West members to get the award this year. Last year, Eastern Washington's Erik Meyer won the Payton award and Cal Poly had its second winner in a row with Chris Gocong winning the Buchanan.
